Bonzo2000
This is always a fun discussion. We all know "Scuse me while I kiss this guy" and "There's a bathroom on the right." But specificaIly for Zeppelin tunes only- I was just listening to Mysty Mountain Hop and had to laugh because there's a line I have had wrong all these years and even when I found out the real lyric, I sing it my way when it comes on: "...he asked us, said please hey WHOOPIE CAT...to all get in line" I know it's really "WOULD WE CARE", but I can't change my brain. Do you have any others like that????

Virginia
"With a purple operator and a 50-cent head" (I'm still not exactly sure what the real lyrics are, but I don't listen to Livin' Lovin' Maid very often, lol)

Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Gosh! This thread is hilarious! Well, in the "Immigrant Song" where there is the line : "Our only goal will be the western shore" I always thought it was : "Our only goal is to rest and shout!" Also, in "Trampled Under Foot", instead of hearing : "Baby let me change your valves, Fix your overdrive" I thought it was : "Baby let me check your voice, Fix your rolling dice" Edited August 4, 2010 by Kiwi_Zep_Fan87

Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Yes, mee too. I heard exactly "rest and shout" there. Woah! You heard that too? Gosh! I thought I was the only one who heard that! Because Robert's wails in that song make the word "shore" sound like shooouuutttt!!!!
Gospel Zone
I used to think that line Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Cold Shot" was "Have to go shopping". Edited August 4, 2010 by Gospel Zone
Gospel Zone
I used to think that line in "Black Dog" was " All I ask for, All I pray, a skinny little woman 'll come my way". After all there is that line that goes "I don't know, but I've been told, A Big legged woman ain't got no soul", so it would follow the same theme. Teenage Zephead
In House of the holy there is a line htat says " Are you dizzy when you're stoned Let the music be your master. Will you heed the master's call " I thought it said "Let the music be your master. Will you keep that master strong"
Virginia
Also, in "Trampled Under Foot", instead of hearing : "Baby let me change your valves, Fix your overdrive" I thought it was : "Baby let me check your voice, Fix your rolling dice" "Trampled Underfoot" lyrics are still mostly a mystery to me And I have googled them, but I don't remember them when the song comes on. Electrophile
You know, I never actually sat down and read the lyrics for Trampled Underfoot until recently. The innuendo was about as subtle as a brick to the forehead.

Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
I always hear it "baby let me check your voice" too!!! OMG! You too??! Wow! And I really got a shock when I googled the lyrics for "Trampled Under Foot"...when I found that "voice" was "valves" all along! And when I thought the line was "baby, let me check your voice"...I used to picture Robert as this blond, sexy Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist!!
