Misundersood Lyrics

Recommended Posts

Back in the day when I was in a band, we used to do "Immigrant Song" and I used to sing:

"We come from the land of the ice and snow,

From the midnight sun where the hard winds blow".

I never realized till I joined this site that it was supposed to be "hot springs flow"! At least my made up lyrics still made sense for the song.

Well before we had lyric sites you kind of had to guess, or play and rewind and play about five hundred times on your tape recorder to get an idea of what they were saying. To this day, I still sing In The Evening as:

In the evening

When the baby is done

I'm for looking for a woman

Oh, my churl won't go.

So don't lay-ay

Before you do

You want sme freedom baby

Someday I'll post the whole mess, lol!

I remember RS's review, and they said something like "as usual the best song is the one you can understand the fewest lyrics, and all I can make out is 'oohing I need zoo love'"

in the song rock & roll

the real lyrics: i can't count the tears of a life with no love.

what i thought they said: i'll kick off your tits i'm alive with your love.

ha ha ha ha

after i read the lyrics, only then did i realize why my friends looked at me the way they did. (and laughed)

-blue skies

:hysterical:

Classic!

And welcome!

In Black Dog studio version I always hear "Gonna tell the french she's gonna be a star"

It's friends right?

Yes, your right. The reason it appears to sound this way is because of the "delay" on the vocals. This effect can sometimes alter a word or two.

In Achilles Last Stand I always thought Robert said 'and pisses on the ground', especially in the live knebworth performance.

It's actually 'in pieces on the ground'
