If you have ever seen the documentary "Behind The Music Remastered: Metallica" on VH1 Classic, you will understand what Bong-Man is referring to: Metallica was the opening band for Guns N Roses in Montreal. James Hetfield was severely burned by the pyrotechnics during one of their songs, and he had to be rushed to the hospital. Metallica could not finish their set. When Guns took the stage, Axl stopped mid-song and said that he couldn't go on as his voice was bothering him. The audience erupted into a riot and destroyed the arena as well as burned cars outside, etc. The Metallica guys were astounded with Axl and lost all respect for him then. They felt that he didn't want to be upstaged by James' incident, so he staged his own incident. The Metallica guys have great respect for their fans and felt bad about not finishing their show. They came back at a later date and finished their concert even though James couldn't play the guitar. His guitar tech played and James sang. I can't condone the audience throwing things on stage. But Axl needs to grow up and take some responsibility for showing up on time and giving his loyal fans what they are paying for, or soon he will not have many fans left.
