ROCK 'n' roll up to Jimi Hendrix's favourite hotel. To mark the 40th anniversary of the guitar legend's death next week, the Cumberland hotel in London has created a Hendrix suite.

And the hotel is offering one lucky reader and guest the chance to stay for a two-night weekend in the brightly-coloured room with a king-size bed.

The Cumberland - one of four London hotels in the Guoman Hotels collection - was Hendrix's last known address and the location of his last ever interview.

The winner can listen to that and his music while sipping on a complimentary bottle of the star's favourite tipple, Smokehead Scotch, in the fifth-floor suite.

The room includes a wall of framed originals of NME covers from the 1960s featuring the rock hero.

Designed in the 1920s, Guoman's stylish 1,000-room Cumberland hotel near Marble Arch features the Michelin-starred Rhodes W1 Restaurant and Carbon Bar. It is perfectly located to explore London the rock star way.
