BIGDAN
Are there any known recordings of The New Yardbirds--meaning Page, Plant, Bonham and Dreja? SteveAJones
Are there any known recordings of The New Yardbirds--meaning Page, Plant, Bonham and Dreja? Chris Dreja was never in The New Yardbirds (Page/Jones/Plant/Bonham), he merely accompanied Jimmy when he went to see Robert Plant and then John Bonham perform in July 1968. Chris had become more interested in photography at the time, in fact he took the photos on the back cover of Led Zeppelin's debut album. Anyway, the earliest known concert recording of The New Yardbirds (Page/Jones/Plant/Bonham) comes from their December 30th 1968 performance in Spokane, WA at Gonzaga University - John F. Kennedy Pavillion, by which time their name had long since changed to Led Zeppelin. A link to the first clip of this recording is provided below. Thanks for the quick answer! http://www.seattlepi...ritics.org.html I've just read the article and it's astonishingly incorrect concerning Dreja having performed with Page, Plant and Bonham.
