Since I was at the shows, I'll take a stab at explaining possible reasons for the swift pace of ALS. 1. After both a lengthy drum solo and a lengthy guitar solo, the band was probably like a caged animal chomping at the bit to be set free. All that waiting around had them building up adrenaline and anxiousness in equal measure. When the solos were finally over and ALS could start proper, they were like a bull out of the gate. 2. There's a midnight curfew at the Forum. All those Forum shows were 3 hours plus...they might have felt they needed to speed things up before the curfew penalty fees took a big chunk out of their nightly gross. Those are both very well thought out reasons. Honestly though I would rather have a decently paced ALS over a 20 minute drum solo any day.
