Strider
There's this one part in TSRTS (the song) that always cracks me up, especially in'77 - it's in the clip below at 3:40-3:53 - they hang on that one chord for an undetermined number of times ( I guess they're supposed to "feel" their way home) and sometimes it works out, other times, mm, not so much. This one's a good example of the latter. Seeing the 'Celebration Day' movie, I noticed instantly that this was now worked out, and I'm thinking it was Jason, saying "What the fuck is happening there anyway, can we please have a set number of times for that?!" Dude, that's one of my favourite parts of the song! The longer they do that bit, the better...it ratchets up the tension so that when they finally come out of it it's an ecstatic release. One of the Earl's Court shows has a nice long one...and there's a couple on the 75 US tour where they extend it almost to the breaking point. I'll have to do some investigating. magerogue
Rock and Roll Southampton 1973-01-22 Man, I heard that show the other day and the two things that I liked about them were the bass and the drums. The drums are SO powerfull. I actually think that that might be the worst 1973 show, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's good on some moments and bad on others. Glad they picked the MSG show to release instead of this one.
