Don't believe errything people (especially BOSSES :lolo:) tell ya.

70's were a blast.

And I'm not a 70's snob, I like new music and culture as well, but I definitely wouldn't say it was a cruddy time.

The worst thing you had to worry about sexually was getting a quickly-curable STD, as opposed to literally risking your life these days without thorough protection.

The Carter years were rough inflation-wise, but I wasn't even in my 20's yet, so not much of a big deal.

I won't drag it out, but I think "a cruddy time to live" is more than a little far-fetched or at least a gross overstatement.

I'll finish with a quick story to illustrate what made the 70's so cool.

One of our high school student parking lots (C parking lot) was out past the tennis courts, and was a well-established haven for getting high before, during and after school.

In what was like a scene straight out of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, I remember finishing up smoking weed in the car as the bell had already rung, and in the very next car, some guys were bonging to the point of literally not being able to see into the car windows. We saw a teacher (a woman) approaching, so we grabbed our things and started getting out of our car. The teacher went straight to the smoked-up car, knocked on the window, and as they rolled down the window, smoke billowing out, she leaned down and said as calmly as giving the time of day, and I quote, "Would you please put that out and get to class?"

Then she turned and proceeded to shoo everyone else towards school.

One of the funniest things I've ever witnessed in my life.

My point - nowadays even smelling like weed is a case, police dogs, search, probable charges, the works.

Things were a lot more laid-back then is all.

WOW LZR, your boss must be more than a bit cruddy himself if thats his opinion of the 70's..I suppose he's one of those saddo's who believed in the "swingin 60's myth !!!!!!!!!!! In the 70's you had all the amazin bands appearin live every couple of weeks...Then there was the Bath rock festival in 1970 (Zepp toppin the bill) with all of the Worlds greatest bands live over 3 days. I mean what more could you ask for !

..........I'm embarrassed to be in this age group.

Come on baby let the good times roll! Just enjoy the springtime of your loving!

Your wrinkles will come soon enough (..... upon us all a little rain must fall... :D )!

This is the springtime of my loving

The second season I am to know

You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before.

It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.

Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune.

Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from

time to time.

Talk Talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter

I never thought it would ever go. I cursed the gloom that set upon us...

But I know that I love you so

These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall

This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all must hold.

This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall.

Like i said, great time for music, but here in the midlands apparently the industry was harsh and times of living were hard.

24 nearly 25. Been a fan forever, didn't really realize it till I was around 18 and became nostalgic for music I heard growing up.

My parents instilled in me a love of great music, it took me awhile to appreciate it fully :D

I'm 18. First discovered Zeppelin last year sometime. First thing I was introduced to was the DVD, fell in love with the acoustic set at Earl's Court, and everything changed.

I thought it would be nice to start a thread where everyone gives their

age, so we could see what the range is for us Zep fans.

I'm an old geezer at 54 years old. I saw my one and only Led Zeppelin concert when I

was 20 years old in 1973.

I'm 43 from Burbank, CA. Now living in Gilbert, AZ. Didn't get a chance to see Zep. Had reserved tickets when the tour was cancelled in the late 70's. :( Hope they will tour again so i can take my seven year old to her first concert! :D GAC64

I'm 45 yrs old and I knew Zepp at 14 at school from a fellow that brought me LZII, so then a shortcircuit burn my head. I put aside my records of YES, Purple, Beatles and became ZeppCollector for the rest of my life. Fortunatly we have a friend Tribute Band called HELIUM that fill our souls each concert with Zepp Songs. Zeppelin had planed to visit Argentina on 77 but that car crashed on Rodi Island killed our hopes.

Now Argies only wait for another tour in order to have just the possibility to obtain new dvd material to enyoy.

Over Argentina and..far away

I'm 25. I really feel like I was born 25 years too late for all the music and culture that I love! I'm so jealous of all of you that were there to experience actual Zeppelin.
