boylollipop
- If so, is there any info on it being released?
tom kid
Yes it is footage from the in house closed circuit tv screens that would have been behind the band when they were playing since there were 70,000 odd people there. The footage has not been officially released (listen to the show and look at the state of Jimmy and you'll know why) but it is pretty easy to get if you know where to look, a quick google should give you some download links. Mattmc1973
I read in Dave Lewis' "Led Zeppelin: The Concert File" book, that Jimmy considered it in 2003 when putting together the material for the official dvd and How The West Was Won, and deemed the footage and performance not up to par. Not surprising. You could pretty much watch the whole show on YouTube...

dalsh327
When they made the DVD, Page had said that he left the 1977 shows off because he couldn't find multitrack tapes for it, but that doesn't make sense when he could've included it as bonus footage on the second disc, but subpar? danelectro
As mentioned it's out there. I take a "hall full" view of it being that any LZ "complete" footage that isn't hacked up Super 8 stuff half synched to a lo-fi bootleg is worth having no matter how poor the performance, as bad as it is there are some good moments. For a high profile band it's puzzling how little they were filmed back in the day. I realize that hadn't yet become as necessary as it is now but it certainly wasn't unheard of, many less popular acts had camera's on them quite a bit.
