Roger, thanks for posting those scans. They are really cool. If you're looking for ideas for other things to scan, are there any German magazines from 1980 that mention the reason for the cancellation of the July 8th, 1980 show? If there are, they would help solve one of the ongoing Zep mysteries.

Led Zeppelin Live on 8.Juli in Germany???

While we know it never happened the unsolved mystery is if it was ever publicized at all. You see, a second date in Berlin (July 8, 1980) does appear in the band's final tour itinerary and on official merchandise. I've never seen a single ticket from this date in circulation so it's doubtful they ever went on sale. This from Mike T:

On May 30, 1980, Swan Song issued a press release with the rescheduled dates. Only the July 7th Berlin show was listed in the press release and the venue was listed as "tba." So the proposed July 8th show was already dropped by then.

In Dave Lewis' "Feather in the Wind" book, he made reference to this 7/8/80 show:

"... a second night in Berlin, originally scheduled for July 8th, was also cancelled - possibly due to a lack of demand though that has never been made clear."

Also in the book, according to Dave's diary notes, the final revision of the 14 date tour was completed on May 12th (thus, there could only be 1 Berlin show scheduled since it turned out to be a 14-gig tour).

By the way, the capacity for the Eissporthalle was 6,000.

Here's the "Air Raid Warden" poster advertising the last tour on which the July 8th show is listed:

Why and who deletes entries here?

Without answering!

Roger, only the forum moderators and webmaster delete entries. However, there doesn't seem to be anything missing from this thread.

Many thanks for posting Mannheim reviews. Press coverage for that tour was so sparse and evokes such melancholy thoughts, undoubtedly because it was their last.
