3hrsoflunacy
A color shot from that era may be from the Yardbirds.
LedZep342
A color shot from that era may be from the Yardbirds. Yea, that's true, but they were billed as The Yardbirds during the Scandinavian tour.
ledzepfilm
My memory is fuzzy on the shot, I remember Page in gold, on the bow, on the right hand corner of the stage. there were a few people around him, and the floor was brown.
ledzepfilm
I'll look for the shot under the yardbirds name, for now.
TheStairwayRemainsTheSame
Could it be this show? I know there isn't a bow but if it is this show I could locate the picture
ledzepfilm
Holy shit, thanks! Thats it!
ledzepfilm
I had a feeling it didn't have the bow. I remember it more distant, but that's the one! It might not be from that show, actually. But it's still a good pic!
ledzepfilm
Actually, that shot might be from the show. The curtains in the B/W pics are probably the same, as the color shows from left to right gold to green, as in the b/w photos it's white to black. It might have been, but more pictures could give us more evidence.

JimmyPageZoSo56
Yea, that's true, but they were billed as The Yardbirds during the Scandinavian tour. I'm pretty sure it was The New Yardbirds.
TheStairwayRemainsTheSame
Howard Mylett made a collection of Led Zeppelin image books that was the image in one of them, if I do some snooping in my books I'll find it.. And they were billed as the NEW yardbirds in the Scandinavian tour.
TheStairwayRemainsTheSame
Thats the same concert and it was: September 7, 1968 Gladsaxe, DK Teen-Clubs, Box 45, Egegaard Skole
LedZep342
I'm pretty sure it was The New Yardbirds. Well, according to the LZ site, they were billed as just the Yardbirds.
ledzepfilm
Yeah, then they were Zep.
joey1985
Those two pictures are not from the same concert, jimmy is wearing different clothes, amps are different, guitar cord is different, background is not the same and the hair is different. The first picture is from the yardbirds not zeppelin billed as the yardbirds.
Aquamarine
Edit: I was replying here to the post at the bottom of the previous page--perhaps this last post ^^ explains the confusion. LZ were never billed as the Yardbirds, and only briefly as the New Yardbirds. Where are you seeing that on the site?
Administrators sam_webmaster Posted April 14, 2011 Administrators Share Posted April 14, 2011 LZ were never billed as the Yardbirds, and only briefly as the New Yardbirds. Where are you seeing that on the site? They were billed as The Yardbirds for those first shows. Aquamarine
Thanks, Sam, learn something every day! I'd have sworn they were never billed as the Yardbirds, even with the evidence in front of me.
TheStairwayRemainsTheSame
So when did they switch to the new yardbirds?

Magic Fills the Air
I don't have any colour photos, but I have these of Led Zeppelin as The New Yardbirds in Scandinavia in September 1968. Source: Jimmy Page himself.
joey1985
This is a yardbirds show for sure. The black and white picture from page two is not the same show, could be the same venue, but not the same show. Cool pictures by the way I have both fender amps and that bandmaster cab jimmy is using they sound great. More photos from the same show:
ledzepfilm
Ahh, fuck, well it was a close one right? It's still a great pic
