Here's what he said:

On This Day, Jan. 28, 2008

In 2008 I was at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo, Japan to promote the Mothership album at a Press Conference. This was the hotel that featured in Sofia Coppola's remarkable 'Lost in Translation' with the luscious Scarlet Johannsen.

Thank you kindly! Must add that to my Netflix queue as well if JP says it's good. Homer Simpson implied it was slow.

I've seen Lost In Translation and really enjoyed it but it's not the type of movie that's for everyone. It is definitely slow and is more of an art house film. There are lots of long shots completely devoid of dialogue that help set the vibe for the film. It also doesn't have a typical blockbuster Hollywood ending. If you're ok with that, you'll love it. If you go in expecting the usual fast paced Hollywood fare, you'll most likely be asleep within the first 30 minutes (or less). It's how the movie refuses to bow to convention that really made it so endearing to me. Not to mention stellar performances from both Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson.

Thanks for this review Jahfin. It looks good, but like I'd have to be in a certain mood to watch it. Thanks :)

I can't believe he mentioned Montgomery. Had no idea they had even been there.

They performed there on June 4th & 5th 1968.

On the 5th they lounged by the hotel swimming pool as news of the death of Robert Kennedy dominated the airwaves on the radio.

Wonderful ! For me this is a classic OTD

A shamelessly tangential link between the date and the subject matter .... plus a photo and recording which - to me - seem entirely new and very exciting to hear.

Of course to be a truly classic OTD it would require a minor inaccuracy. I'm sure someone can find one !

Here you go: the song was actually recorded in late 1960 (or early 1961), not 1959.
