JIMMY PAGE ON THIS DAY (Archive)

Recommended Posts

Thank you for that! It's great. I find it very interesing to hear how Page wrote a song prior to the arrival of the hard rock scene.

You're welcome, BMV! Glad that's what you were looking for. I'm very interested in Page's early years and what he was involved in musically and how and what he he did during those years influenced LZ.

Glad MSG found it for you. She beat me to it. :D

I knew you weren't around and thought this was too good to wait. ;)

Bring it in to a pc specialist. That's the best way to do it. But check around for costs etc. Ask others who may have used these services first. Just trying to help, as I know what I went through. Let me know how it works out!! :D

......Jackie DeShannon "Making most of her time in England" ;) ..a bit of background on the Song, Don't turn your back on me/With Page...

"Making the most of the English connection, Jackie shortly afterwards came across to the UK, to promote her own career, and her songs. She recorded a song in London, arranged by Charles Blackwell, specifically for the British market, and although Don’t Turn You Back On Me did not make the charts, it was much played on the pirate radio ships, and Jackie also performed it live on the trendy TV show Ready Steady Go! This song mixed a certain folksiness with the jangly guitar, which her earlier records had originated, and the energy, which went into this performance, is phenomenal. The guitar player on the session was Jimmy Page. Jackie certainly made the most of her time in England...."

...tks, and This is one of my top fav. photos from the Official Bio of Page...when I first saw this, it was striking at once!!!, legendary musician tucked away in a corner in presence very confident/powerful woman....this was a beautiful surprise....

A great photo. Love this one.

Also just read that she dated Jimmy and it's possible that "Tangerine" was actually about her.

Jimmy Page wrote this and first recorded it when he was with still with The Yardbirds. This was the last Zeppelin song Page wrote without any input from Robert Plant.

it is reminiscent of a love from his session days with a girl by the name of Jackie De Shannon
