Hothouse Flowers

A friend of mine who had gone to see the U2 concert in Moncton was showing me photos from the concert yesterday. He said he was really uncomfortable at the concert as everyone was swaying back and forth. He said he paid extra money for sit down seats, but everyone was standing anyhow and got really uncomfortable over the evening.

It caused me to remember the time I went to see Hothouse Flowers. I don't remember the venue, but it was seats with tables. It was comfortable, and the band was awesome. I truly preferred it to any of the larger concerts I have gone to. I haven't been to too many concerts, but of the ones I have been to, I felt that the atmosphere of the smaller hall with tables and chairs was the best.

The Hothouse Flowers are an Irish rock band that combines traditional Irish music with influences from soul, gospel and rock.

The group was formed in 1985 when Liam Ó Braonáin Maonlaí and Fiachna or (who had known each other like kids in a Gaelic-speaking school) began performing as street musicians or buskers on the streets of Dublin, Ireland and "The Incomparable Benzini Brothers." They were soon joined by Peter O'Toole, and won an award from the street player in a year. He renamed the group "Hothouse Flowers" and began to write songs and perform in Ireland.
