reswati Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) Just found this picture by instant karma today, and it immediately did ring a bell...... The German pilots on Led Zeppelin 2 are actually the members of Manfred von Richthofen's Jagdstaffel 11 (Richthofen was a ww1 flying ace, known as The Red Baron) with replaced heads. The original photo was taken on April 23, 1917. The RB's younger brother Lothar is the one sitting on the ground. reswati Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Does anyone know who are the other head replacements on the album? The faces of band plus manager Peter Grant and Richard Cole. The woman in the picture is Glynis Johns, the mother from "Mary Poppins". Her presence in the photo is an obvious play on the name of recording engineer Glyn Johns. The other faces added were those of bluesman Blind Willie Johnson and astronaut Neil Armstrong. Edited October 3, 2011 by reswati Quote
