nickygents Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I've seen a lot of confusion on the internet on the lyrical content in The Ocean. Specifically here "Singing in the sunshine, laughing in the rain. Hitting on the moonshine, rocking in the grain. <----i hear and have seen brain posted on the internet, what is the official lyric Got no time to pack my bag, my foots outside the door. Got a date, can't be late for the high hopes hailla ball." <------what is hailla ball? i saw some things about hellhound, anyone have any ideas? Quote
Strider Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Oh dear, not again. This was already hashed out over in the Led Zeppelin Master Forum section...search for The Ocean lyrics thread. In short, it's "rocking in the GRAIN"...there is no "brain". And there's no "hellhound" either, for that matter. This is one of those cases where you can't believe what you see or hear on the internet. Quote
ledzepfvr Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Wow....I always thought is was "rockin' in the brain". Thanks for setting me straight. But I'm sure there are alot of lyrics I've been happily singing wrong all these years. Quote
Deborah J Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I have always heard Robert singing .."I got a date I can't be late what the hell am I nervous for"... Quote
Reggie29 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 The lyrics are on the inner sleeve of the vinyl album and the cd booklet. Quote
Deborah J Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Hi Reggie! I know, but for years that's what I heard...plus I wanted to get that crazy topic taken down a few notches, you know the one that basically bashes Robert yet again. I got tired of looking at it!!!! :-) Quote
Reggie29 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I hear you Deb. Gotta love mondegreens! Quote
