Stormpilot Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 As much as I would love Zep to do more gigs I seriously am desperate for Foreigner to stop! Their sappy song and the singer's ridiculous dialogue were hilarious. (no offense intended ahmet) Quote

LivewireYouthMusic Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Was it the guy from Foreigner who said 'I think your all here to see Led Zeppelin' errm yep!!!!!! Quote
euro Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I think it was very classy of Mick Jones to allow and support Jason in playing this reunion gig. Quote
DoubleNecker Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 How can you not like Double Vision? Madness! Quote
dragster Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 How can you not like Double Vision? Madness! That's one of my faves by the band, but some other songs are wimpy enuff..,.,...but that's me!! Quote
Mattmc1973 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 It's not even really Foreigner anymore, there's no Lou Gramm. It's just Mick Jones with a bunch of other guys, calling it Foreigner. Quote
hot dog Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I want to know why they thought it a good idea to bring in a childrens choir to sing along: 'I Want To Know What Love Is, I Want You To Show Me' Quote
blimp Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I want to know why they thought it a good idea to bring in a childrens choir to sing along: 'I Want To Know What Love Is, I Want You To Show Me' Maybe they got the idea off Neil Young? He had a 100 strong choir on Living With War, and he's got a kids choir thingy on Chrome Dreams 2. Maybe choirs are the "in thing" at the moment? Quote

blimp Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Yes, i see your point! I'm a bit perplexed as well. Quote
Lee Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I want to know why they thought it a good idea to bring in a childrens choir to sing along: 'I Want To Know What Love Is, I Want You To Show Me' I think it was just to emphasize the huge gulf between the headliners and almost every other band on the planet. I remember having to wade through hours of crap like Chas n Dave and Commander Cody at Knebworth. Actually most of the support was pretty good, especially Paul Rodgers. Could have done without fanfare for the common man though! Quote
bradleemarchildon Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I saw their New Years Eve concert at Niagara Falls Canada and they were great." Luck of the Draw" Quote

grandmeaulne Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 It's not even really Foreigner anymore, there's no Lou Gramm. It's just Mick Jones with a bunch of other guys, calling it Foreigner. They were at best, a decent cover band. Saw them in their heydays, and this wasn't the same band. Was I ever glad to stuck to one song. If John Paul Jones decided to tour under the name Led Zeppelin, with a Page imitator, a Plant sound-alike and a generic drummer, would anyone say "but they sounded great?" Quote
shoobah Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I think it was very classy of Mick Jones to allow and support Jason in playing this reunion gig. Let's be frank, now, Mick Jones doesn't need to "allow" Jason Bonham to do anything. Jason can do what he wants. Jones is a very rich man (his current wife is also a minor aristocrat) and he has sold millions of albums, but in what might politely be described as the twilight of his career, having Jason Bonham in his band has helped him sell tickets and given a version of Foreigner that now consists solely of Jones and a few hired hands, some semblence of individuality and interest. Many people would have been surprised to learn that Foreigner were even still together, if it wasn't for their appearance at this show. I suspect that if Zeppelin had told Jones that Foreigner could only play the 02 with thermometers protruding from their rear ends while singing "I'm hot blooded, check it and see…" Jones would have gone along with it :-) Quote
Rocksan Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Mick Jones wrote all Foreigner songs, and music, and really created the band back when he was hangin out with The Beatles. They are a really good band right now, the current guys which include Jeff Pilson (Dokken) on bass, and Kelly Hansen (Hurricane), is a good singer. These guys have been playing together for about 4-5 years now and they are tight!!! Unfortunately, Lou Gramm has had some medical problems that have affected his ability to sing. Quote
SteveAJones Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I want to know why they thought it a good idea to bring in a childrens choir to sing along: 'I Want To Know What Love Is, I Want You To Show Me' Perhaps Michael Jackson had made the request. Quote
hot dog Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Perhaps Michael Jackson had made the request. I was thinking Bill Wyman. Quote

Pearl Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Oh no, Foreigner still kickin'??!! What do you mean allow him to play? Mick jones is not his daddy! Jason can tell him to F off at any time! Quote

It was like very weird for me to see they were opening for Zep. NO OFFENSE AT ALL TOWARDS JASON BONHAM. He is a living legacy and an awesome musician. Quote
Dharmabum Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I wish they played 'Juke Box Hero', which always reminded me of Page. Quote
