Electrophile
So what do you think about the Eagles touring again Electrophile? I Know you are a fan because of your previous Hotel Cal pic. Do you think they are getting greedy? And do you think that Zepp will tour? What do the Eagles have to do with this thread? My opinion on them is not relevant to the discussion at hand. And no, I don't think Zeppelin will tour.
Electrophile
Well, so much for trying to be friendly to you . Why dont you bitch at the others that keep making threads about a tour? I think the list is endless. It is a waste of time trying to be civil with you. If you think I have gone off the topic, look at some of the other threads. I have tried to play by the rules. You are just plain NASTY!!!!!!!! Uhhhhh, okay?
ZoSo88
This is kinda of a fantasy concept really. Its doubtfull enough that LZ will tour much less team up with Pink Floyd. If they did, PF would have to open for LZ or at least go on first. There are both awsome bands, all time greats but they are not nearly as equal as the average rock fan would have you believe. PF has been around alot longer and lack the consistancy that Zep had with much more filler and zone out music. Their live performance is awsome and the light shows have alot to do with that. The members of PF have even said they like to let the light shows do the talking. They could not match Zep's overall talent, consistancy, or charisma. They are very talented in alot of those aspects but just in different degrees. Page blows Gilmour out in pretty much every aspect. Take if from a guy who is a HUGE fan of both, i have no need to favor either one but the music and live performance speak for themselves.
guitarmy
yeah I don't think it would ever happen either. but if it did, you can bet I'll either be leaving early or coming late
lzzoso
In my opinion, although this would be an excellent concert, it would never happen. I wish it would so I could witness such a spectacle. But hypothetically speaking, if it did ever happen Pink Floyd would have to be the opener of these gigs. The reason, in my opinion, is that Led Zeppelin is the far more superior band. And I will give my reason for saying that. I say that because Led Zeppelin had the "couth" to call it quits when Bonzo died. Jimmy, Robert and John Paul knew that they "could not continue as we were". Sad, but true. Very dignified. Now, from what I think I know, once Roger Waters quit Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and Company added about 10 or more extra musicians to replace one bass player. And on top of that Roger Waters actually sued his former band members in court to prevent them from touring as Pink Floyd. Although I am a fan of Pink Floyd, all that drama is too much to consider. These four (4) musicians, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham would blow the ten (10) or fifteen (15) musicians that now comprise Pink Floyd out of any arena. Bonn Bonnema
i dont care if these bands are different entities theyre both amazing and i am a huge fan of both of em It would be a quite a treat to see two legendary bands performing side by side and i dont think pink floyds phsychadelic/progessive style will ruin Led Zeppelin hard/blues rock style both styles are great to listen to an d should provide entertainment

Reggie1971
Richard Wright is gone and David Gilmore has said "it ain't gonna happen" when asked about a Floyd reunion. Ironic thing is that Waters seemed up to it in an interview he gave not too long ago. I guess he changed his mind about the whole "final cut" thing. Starbreaker
Your father was a hamster and you mother smelled of elderberries! While I love both Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, I don't think that they would go very well as a package. In my mind, the spaciness of Pink Floyd clashes sonically with the power and heaviness of Led Zeppelin. Let's look at both posibilites if Zep and Floyd toured together. If you put Zeppelin first, and Floyd second, for the members of the audience, it would be like someone drinking a super-duper energy drink, and then crashing after 2 1/2 hours. Transitioning from the intensity of Zeppelin to the mellowness of Pink Floyd just wouldn't work. However, if Floyd opened for Zeppelin, Floyd would not have enough time let their songs play out properly in order to make you travel to an alternate universe (which is part of the charm of Floyd). And then of course, after Floyd's set was over, the audience would be brought out of the mental paradise by Zeppelin's power, which would not feel good either. gollum6668
It's only a flesh wound! Agreed to all of the above..Both bands are very good but cannot be compared. It's like comparing star trek to star wars (damn another debate!) Anyways..Love zeppelin's music and power,,and love floyd's for the same reasons.. depends on the mood of the individual at the time. mobydick
I note David Gilmour of Pink Floyd was at the O2 gig this week. As rumours and hopes abound about both these legendary bands, maybe they could go on tour together...but who would top the bill? Would it matter anyway, what a gig that would be? Haha! Silly question. I would invite you to park your arse by the stereo, listen to these bands and ask yourself "why did I pose that silly question". dazedcat
I saw a Black Crowes reference on page one from two years ago. That would be my choice, actually Page and the Crowes should do another tour. The last one was pretty epic as I recall. Plant shows no interest, Page can't possibly get another singer to fill in. So yeah, roll out the Southern Harmony-British rock god thing again. What else is there to see? Regards;
The Zeppelin
Those names are too big for one show. If you took into account how rare it is to get Robert, Jimmy, JPJ, and Jason in one venue than the demand for Led Zeppelin would be so much bigger than for Pink Floyd I dont think Floyd would do it. Are you dizzy when you're stoned Let the music be your master. Will you heed the master's call Oh... Satan and man. 6. Welcome my son, welcome to the machine. Where have you been? It's alright we know where you've been. You've been in the pipeline, filling in time, provided with toys and Scouting for Boys. 32 You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world You tell me that it's evolution Well, you know We all want to change the world But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out Don't you know it's gonna be all right all right, all right 17 Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed 9 Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
