Strider
^^^And in case there are still people who aren't aware, it is the Isley Bros. "It's Your Thing" that is the basis for the funk breakdown in Led Zeppelin's live versions of "Communication Breakdown". Happy Birthday Ernie! Play on brother, play on! Jahfin
Happy 60th Ernie!!!!! Learned from Jimi himself, listen to them stand up and "Testify"! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usP3yLGru1Y&feature=related I love that West Coast Seattle Boy box that came out a couple years ago. It was cool to finally hear some of the songs Hendrix played on rather than just reading about them.
chillumpuffer
The Isley Brothers Live album from 1973 is a classic. Very hard to get hold of. Very funky and souley. Has a great version of Ohio - Machine gun. A great salute to the man.
Sagittarius Rising
I saw the Isley Bros live, front row at the Celebrity Theatre in Phx back in 2006 I believe. I was so close I scared the band :-) I even got a pick from Ernie himself, it does not have a picture of Jesus or the Virgin but to me it is pure magic, serious mojo my friends. Ernie is one very talented player.
