Led_Zeppelin_Forever
Hi, This is a thread for Journey fans to talk about anything to do with them. I love them I am a big fan of theirs. Here is a question: Do you like the new singer of Journey? I like him he is pretty good, for having to sound like Steve Perry. Anyway just talk about anything. Bye for now. dazedcat
I liked them better without Steve Perry, the music they played at the time was almost as big as Neil Schon's afro. Seriously, it was almost prog rock hell but it was well played..... I did like that first album with Perry but after that I pretty much lost interest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnSIurA0euk&feature=related Edited April 25, 2012 by dazedcat
Mudslider
Yeah, the first LP.....good.....then crap and more crap..and selling out to 80's girly rock scene. Pathetic......and that's why they're playing fairs and casinos today. Pure garbage.
Led_Zeppelin_Forever
I know what you are saying. My brother said that their earlier stuff without and with Steve Perry are better than the now albums. I love Infinity. I don't know why though. Led_Zeppelin_Forever
Why Journey went a little poppy. Is in the 80's and that was that time when everybody when poppy. I don't really like any 80's stuff.
chillumpuffer
Sorry to say but Journey toured the UK in the late 70's/early 80's. Unfortunately for them the opening act was Pat Travers. I have never seen a concert hall empty so fast. I did stay for a couple of songs but we couldn't figure out if the vocalist was male or female? I believe Journey never returned to Manchester for a long time. File under a number of mis cast line ups. Like Black Sabbath being blown away by Van Halen or of course the Knenbworth bill of 1979 ( except Todd)
Led_Zeppelin_Forever
That is not good^^.
Strider
Only thing worse than an Eagles thread is a Journey thread, hehehe.
Strider
^ I believe there are actually two. Yay! I thought bands like Journey & The Eagles were an integral part of The American Dream? No. THAT would be the Allman Brothers Band.
Led_Zeppelin_Forever
Does anyone like Journeys new albums?
Virginia
I don't listen to them much now, but their music definitely invokes a lot of good high school memories.
Led_Zeppelin_Forever
Their new albums are not that good. Yesterday I finished listening to all the albums they made.

Charles J. White
Just wait for the new singer to get sick, they will fire his arse like they did with the last 27 singers they have had…I wonder if the new boy gets an equal cut of the concerts tickets? They owe it all to him

TypeO
Infinity was an awesome album. This is a big reason why. Much like Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid, they just belong together. http://youtu.be/eEIOE0J3oIM
The Pagemeister
http://ultimateclassicrock.com/neal-schon-steve-perry-lets-talk-soon/ Neal Schon to Steve Perry: ‘Let’s Talk Soon’ by Jeff Giles July 30, 2013 10:21 AM Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Michael Ochs Archives, Getty ImagesIt’s been more than 15 years since Steve Perry left Journey for the second (and seemingly final) time, but the fans haven’t forgotten him — and neither, it seems, has guitarist Neal Schon. Schon took to Facebook in a reflective mood last Wednesday (July 24), linking to an hourlong interview with Perry from January of 2012 (embedded above) and offering a few kind words about his former bandmate, with whom he helped create some of the most enduring hits — and most infamous arguments — of ’80s rock. “Great Steve Perry interview,” wrote Schon. “I hope we can can reach out to each other and connect once again. We had amazing chemistry together.” While few would disagree with regards to Schon and Perry’s chemistry, there’s also no denying the bad blood that’s long existed between Perry and the other members of the band. Still, some fans have continued to hold out hope for a follow-up to his short-lived ’90s reunion with the group, and there’s no doubt they’ll be heartened by Schon’s message of friendship. “I love him with all the love and admiration you could even have,” concluded his post. “Steve, let’s talk soon.”

Had a great sound in the early days that evolved into the pop/rock sensation they became in the early 80's. Many iconic songs. Hope this brings Steve Perry back into the fold, for at least one night. The Rover 75
They don't appeal to me either, I saw Van Halen open for them during VH's fist tour, we did not stay for the end of Journey's set, there was no point to it.
