AMERICANA - the first Neil Young & Crazy Horse in nearly nine years.

AMERICANA is collection of classic, American folk songs.

In their day, some of these may have been referred to as "protest songs", "murder ballads",

or campfire-type songs passed down with universal, relatable tales for everyman.

I absolutely love this album. IMO considering the last few records Neil has put out (i.e. just about everything he's done since Prairie Wind), I was getting a little worried that he was really starting to lose the plot a bit...Americana more than makes up for them, though. Then again, I may be biased: I like Neil Young whether he's doing rock, country, folk or Trans  but I love his stuff with Crazy Horse most of all. Listening to this album, it's hard to believe Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina are both seventy fucking years old! And Neil at 67 doesn't sound too bad himself.
