Led Zeppelin Liverpool Stadium 29 November 1971

Did anybody else go to this concert, it was my first one and I was in awe of the situation. At the stadium (mainly used for boxing and wrestling) the ring was moved away and the stage was moved back creating a space in front of the stage where there were no seats, I think it held about 4.000 people. When Zep came on stage a mass of people all stormed the area were there were no seats , and everyone else started shouting "sit down", and other obscenities.Anyway amazingly the whole group just sat down on the stage until they all returned to their seats. It will remain etched in my memory until I die, great times!!!!!!!!

Excellent picture, cheers mate..... where you there? I'm just curious to see how many people on the Zep Forum attended that night, or am I the only one left? i went with my mate Stvo and his girlfriend Jan. Thanks for the picture, from it you can see the space left when they moved the stage towards the wall.

My first visit to the Stadium was to see Golden Earring with Alquin as support early 74. So no Zeppelin for me...........Went many Times after that. A lot of the time it did'nt matter who was on as long as you could pay at the door..Check out liverpoolstadium-rockyears website there is a gig list there though i'm fairly certain there are a few gaps in there it's well worth checking out.

Yes I remember this concert very well, just as well as collecting my tickets for it. They went on sale at the Stadium at 9am, several weeks before, and I was in the queue at 5:30am and even then there were 50 or so infront of me. I think it had grown to 750 as there was some chap walking around the snaking queue actually counting everybody. Anyway,

Robert Plant opened with Immigrant Song and as soon it was over he informed us that they had to open with this because they had head colds and needed to clear their sinuses. They had previously performed in London over some ice rink and the temperature on stage had been lower than usual.

I remember them finishing the concert with some american rock 'n roll which was lively but I remember thinking that they hadn't written it. When you think of their repertoire I was a bit surprised but still loved it anyway.
