Strider
I'm having a debate with a friend and decided to posit the question here in hopes someone(Sam? Steve?) can confirm the answer. You know the first backstage scene in "The Song Remains the Same"? The scene right after "Black Dog" where Robert's going on about "that cosmic energy...everybody goes 'Yay- BASH!'"? Well, when Robert's saying something like "This is a song in which our forefathers blah blah blah…did you hear that?" A voice then responds "I couldn't believe it." Now, I have always thought that was Jimmy responding but a certain headstrong Texas filly I know asserts that is not so. It sure doesn't sound like Peter Grant. So, is it Jimmy? Or is it someone else? Edited May 23, 2012 by Strider
chillumpuffer
The voice is almost certainly American. So maybe a member of the road crew?
Texas Melanie
Thank you Chillumpuffer! The voice comes from the guy sitting next to Plant and has an American accent. Jimmy is across the room and is very much English, my SoCal stubborn friend.
Walter
BP Fallon was there, I know he is Irish - but could it be him?
Strider
I'm not sold on the idea of the voice being American. BP Fallon? He definitely was there, so that's a possibility. Perhaps Danny Goldberg or Benji are also candidates?
Knebby
It's definitely not Jimmy or Benji. I think it is an American - it's the pronunciation of "believe". Edited May 24, 2012 by Knebby

Texas Melanie
Strider, I am a mature woman who would never stoop so low as to lower your morale by exclaiming "I told you so!!" that would be mean and disrespectful. See, that wasn't me. :-P
Strider
^^^ Dance away, sweetheart...dance away. One day... The funny thing is, it's that pronounciatipn of "believe" with the long "eeeeeve" sound that had me thinking it was an English accent when I saw it as a kid. MadScreamingGallery
I thought it was Eddie Kramer.
Pagefan55
I don't think it was Eddie Kramer. I think it was probably a member of the road crew.
RIP-IT-UP
This is an example of the poor editing of TSRTS; the interview makes Plant look like an idiot; I'm sure he winces when he sees it, as he is what? 30 years on?

Sathington Willoughby
It's a female voice, probably a badgeholder or someone working for MSG or the band. (21:25) Edited August 14, 2014 by Sathington Willoughby
jabe
Believe it man, it ain't no Englishman. Damn straight! It's Elvis Aaron Presley, throwing a disguised voice. Look at the reflections in the mirrors and you can briefly discern the back of his head.
