tmtomh
I was just listening to the amazing September 14, 1971 Berkeley show and it prompted me to think about the best - and best sounding - Zep shows available only as audience recordings. So just below is my list. NOTE: Many legendary AUD shows are not on this list. That's because the source tape sounds like crap (e.g. Copenhagen May 3 '71, Cleveland April 28 '77), or because a significant portion is available on soundboard (e.g. March 7 '70 Montreux, and much of the March '73 European tour). So these are ONLY shows that meet ALL THREE of the following criteria: (1) Great performance (2) Really good-sounding source (3) No significant portion is available in soundboard form Comments and additions welcome of course! 1. 1969 01 05 L.A. 2. 1969 04 24 L.A. (the "Dancing Avocado" show) 3. 1970 09 04 Inglewood (the "Blueberry Hill" show) 4. 1970 09 19 NYC, evening show 5. 1971 09 14 Berkeley (the "Going to California" show) 6. 1971 09 23 Tokyo 7. 1972 10 02 Tokyo 8. 1973 03 24 Offenburg 9. 1973 06 03 Inglewood 10. 1975 03 21 Seattle 11. 1977 06 21 Inglewood (the "Listen to this Eddie" show) 12. 1977 06 23 Inglewood (the "Badgeholders" show) 13. 1979 07 24 Copenhagen Edited June 21, 2012 by tmtomh
3hrsoflunacy
Well, here's my argument for not leaving out shows that are partially or completely available as a SBD source: 1. Some shows, like Montreaux '70, the AUD sounds better than the SBD source. 2. Some people prefer AUD sources for their ambience over dry SBD's. So I wouldn't want to deprive them of good sounding AUD sources just because a SBD exists. Anyway, here is my list: 1971.08.23 Ft. Worth, TX (incomplete) 1972.06.09 Charlotte, NC 1972.06.11 Baltimore, MD 1972.10.09 Osaka, Japan - Source 1 1973.06.02 San Francisco, CA 1975.02.12 New York, NY - Jerry Moore source is outstanding 1975.02.28 Baton Rouge, LA - Freezer 12th gen source :-) 1975.03.11 Long Beach, CA - Millard source 1975.05.18 Earls Court, UK - Source 3 1977.06.27 Inglewood, CA - Millard source 1979.08.11 Knebworth, UK - Source

Adolfmartin56
Leicester: Best For Hard And Heavy 25th November 1971. What a stunning show Yeah Agree it was a great show and the best part was that the show closes with Communication Breakdown, containing a soulful, Band Of Gypsies-style solo and a funky break before accelerating to a racing finish. If Anyone here have some pics of this show please share them or PM me. thanks on advance. BlyZeppelinaren
Leicester: Best For Hard And Heavy 25th November 1971. What a stunning show The Ipswich show on the 16th is brilliant aswell, I'd say the uk winter tour in 1971 is Robert at his peak for me at least
