Strider
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-film-critic-judith-crist-death-had-sharp-wit-20120807,0,6411728.story I read everything I could get my hands on when I was growing up...books, magazines, newspapers, I enjoyed it all. The first two film critics that I remember reading that made an impression on me were Charles Champlin and Judith Crist. She came up during a time when there weren't many women in the field...later I would discover Pauline Kael and Penelope Gilliatt of the New Yorker..but Judith was the first. RIP Judith Crist. ebk
I saw that moments after I'd finished reading another article about Marvin Hamlisch. I was too sad to start another thread about a great talent dying... Not a good day.
Lake of Shadows
Aww, RIP Judith Crist. I remember reading some of her reviews when I was a lass.
Strider
Same here, Lakey...she would be the first thing I read when the new TV Guide arrived in the mail. I saw that moments after I'd finished reading another article about Marvin Hamlisch. I was too sad to start another thread about a great talent dying... Not a good day. It's getting like that every day, it seems...just read about Robert Hughes. Here's the full Judith Crist obituary from the LA Times...yesterday's was a hasty one: http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-judith-crist-20120808,0,1086637.story
