Being the sad, sad bastard that I am, it occurred to me a while ago to wonder: what's the longest totally vocal-free passage in a non-instrumental LZ studio track?

Been meaning to check for ages, and finally remembered today. I thought it would be a close call between two particular songs, but I thought I knew which one it would be...and I was right, on both counts! (The difference between the two is actually only about 5 seconds.)

So, without checking, what would your guess be? And if you're as sad as me & already know the answer, please don't post. ONE GUESS PER PERSON.

Once again, for the dullards at the back: Moby Dick doesn't count.

Robert doesn't usually leave much vocal free space does he?

The one who takes the cake is the Counting Crowes singer... non stop vocal............

We have a winner! :cheer::banana:

2.37. Not an obvious candidate - I only really noticed it after listening to endless live versions.

Well done!

Sweet! So what do I win?

Black Mountain Side and Jennings Farm Blues too.

But since this thread is about the longest totally vocal-free passage in a non-instrumental LZ studio track, all that info about WS, BMS and JFB is irrelevant.
