Led Zeppelin to receive Kennedy Center Honor

Does anyone know if C-SPAN will show the State Dinner on Saturday night? I know they usually show such Washington events, so not sure if they actually broadcast the dinner for this one. :(

It's not actually a State Dinner, so chances are it won't be broadcast. There are usually some clips available on the news, though.

I may look at the C-SPAN schedule...just in case.

Does anyone know if this will be broadcast on British TV? I have Sky TV, but don't know what channel is likely to show it.

I think YouTube is the best hope. The red carpet stuff will be available in the UK, and apparently CBS will release some very limited excerpts from the show. But what usage any of that will get in the UK is quite doubtful. However if it's out there, someone will post it ... I hope ...

Oh my...I just learned a few minutes ago I'm going to be in attendance on Sunday night! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! Now, I'm off to make my airline reservations to DC...woohoo! :)

Jealous, but happy someone from the forum gets to attend....and hopefully gives us a story or two.

Hollywood comes to Washington, D.C. this weekend for the 35th annual Kennedy Center Honors.

Each year, the Honors celebrate the careers of seven individuals for their life’s work.

This year, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin will receive awards, as well as actor Dustin Hoffman, comedian David Letterman, Russian ballerina Natalia Marakova and blues singer Buddy Guy.

Jack Black, the Foo Fighters and Lenny Kravitz will pay tribute to Led Zeppelin during Sunday’s star-studded ceremony, The Daily Caller has learned.

Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Jimmy Kimmel will be there to honor the longtime “Late Show” host, while screen legend Robert De Niro will be there to celebrate his “Meet the Fockers” co-star Dustin Hoffman.

The honorees will be given their awards at a ceremony held by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday, and greeted by President Barack Obama and the first lady prior to the ceremony and performance on Sunday.

Thanks for the up-to-date info folks! I still Heart wuld have been better than the Foo Fighters. The Wilson sisters could present the acoustic and hard rack set list.

Agreed the Heart sisters would be great . I noticed Dave Grohl sang a softer song when paying tribute to Paul McCartney which I thought was awesome. As you I'd also like to see the acoustic elements of zeppelin represented. I would also like to see the exotic world sides of Zeppelin represented.

I also had a list of my favorites that if it was up to me I would've had chosen, but what are you going to do.

I'm just going to roll with it and enjoy whoever performs. Also, I noticed that Neil Young is playing in the DC area tonight maybe he will be performing a tribute also or in attendance on Sunday?

This truly is a celebration.
