Strider
Eating my way through Houston... Thought I would share some of the meals I had while in Houston, TX on my trip. Melanie took me to some of her favourite spots and we even tried a few that were new to her. Charles J. White may want to avert his eyes. First up, Torchy's Tacos, with a marvelous selection of tacos and burritos... Gumby recommends the 'Mr. Orange'...blackened salmon and corn salsa. The Hudcap Grill...they keep it simple: Burgers-Fries-Beer... Melanie had the Sticky Monkey(burger w/ bacon, peanut butter and bananas), while I had the Texas BBQ Burger(burger w/ jalepeño sausage, bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, and bbq sauce. Great homemade buns, too. And Dublin, TX vanilla cream soda made with pure cane sugar...none of that corn syrup crap. Oh, and we shared some Buffalo Fries...french fries w/ Buffalo Wing sauce and blue cheese crumbles.
Strider
Breakfast at Le Peep... A real Texas-sized Cinnamon Roll. Oh. My. Goodness. It destroys Cinnabon. Lots of water accompanied this sweet morsel. Some real Texas BBQ at Goode Co. You gotta love a place that loves Hank Williams... A vegan's nightmare...I had the BBQ Beef Brisket w/ potato salad and cole slaw and jalapeño cheese bread...and something I hadn't had since my Army days at Ft. Hood: a Lone Star beer. Cheers and Bon appétit from Houston... Edited June 26, 2013 by Strider
