Orfeo
"Song Remains the same" (cd) and "BBC sessions" are amazing! I want bootleg list with best dazed & confused live and epic "No quarter" live.
Sue Dounim
My personal favorite DnC: 3/27/75, and for a definitive No .Quarter, you can't go wrong with 6/23/77.
Zepphile
My definitive, all-time favorite NQ is from Destroyer. Cleveland, 4/27/77. The guitar tone and the piano interplay section are amazing. Also, theres no goofy rockabilly part, which never worked out well, did it?

Only because there was a tape cut.And there are plenty of good NQ boogie jams. See 4/28/77, 4/30/77, 5/22/77, 6/11/77, All of the LA No Quarters. Strider
I thought 3/27 was second to 3/21 for you? Maybe it depends on the lunar cycle?

I still love 3/27 though. I think the jam on 'I Shot the Sheriff' was what changed my mind. Edited September 15, 2013 by Sue Dounim

nick2632
Dazed And Confused- BCC Sessions Disc 1, I find the 20-40 minute performances quite boring. But since you said bootlegs, I will have to say Southampton 1/22/1973. Not the best, but I really like it. No Quarter- ehh L.A. Forum 6/23/1977 is freaking great! But Vancouver 3/19/1975 is holding my attention, gosh was Jonsey on fire that night!! By far HIS greatest performance of Stairway To Heaven IMHO. Unlike Dazed And Confused, I can eagerly sit through a 20-30 minute performance of No Quarter any day. I love hearing Jonsey jam out then Bonzo coming in loud and heavy as ever then Pagey coming in quietly but fast and relentless. I might say No Quarter live may have shown Zeppelin at their very best, it became a complete masterpiece through out 1975.

hunter19877
No Quarter 1975.03.20 Vancouver (SoundBoard) and as for dazed I would have to go with 3-12-1975 Long Beach. But this is my own Opinion. And who knows I loved dazed so much live that my opinion will probably change in the years to come. But for now i really love that one. I just love how The intro to the bow solo gets real groovy! How he kinda half mutes it and goes " Jiggy jn jn jn ja jny jn jn" And roberts going "Back to the garden, BABY BABY BABY BABY HUH! And then the transition into the bow solo is just flawless, and the bow solo itself is so good! Oh man i love it! And that No Quarter, Jimmy's soloing is just amazing! He KILLS it!!! and jonesy is really really good! But the earls court 23rd version is also really dreamy and amazing from jonesy!
Nutrocker
I think the live "No Quarter" Page put on the original SRTS soundtrack would be the 'best' one. My favourite? If you put a gun to my head I'd have to say June 11 1977 New York, although June 27 LA and April 28 Cleveland (with the "Nutrocker" and blues jam) aren't without their charms, either...For '75 I like Vancouver March 19 and Baton Rouge February 28. I agree about the TSRTS No Quarter. Yeah i really love that version. Its just so awesome his soloing and Jonesy's piano solo and Bonzo gradually coming in it all just goes so well. it really is one of the best, if not THE BEST one ever!
