Page, Jones & Bonham

Recommended Posts

I was just thinking that if they really wanted to enter the 2000s they could do a reality show called "Waiting for Robert" where they just keep jamming and rehearsing instrumentals in front of the camera or bringing in one-time guest vocalists. I know they would never want to be quite that exposed, but it would be cool.

Please

Never

No

Everybody off!....this thread has now arrived at loony central. Zeppelin have just reunited with Robert against all odds and played a great show. So the suggestion is that the other 3 should now consider carrying on without him?....odd if they did that...it's took them 27 years to get him to come out to play! The big assumption made here of course is that Plant was/is the barrier in the first instance

I totally support the three of them going on without Robert if he does not want to participate. And yes. As Led Zeppelin. It is NOT Plant's solo group so move on without him. It is bigger than any one person. I resent his dead hippie ideology of being a quiter when something goes wrong. I think I will protest in the streets...just like a hippie.

You possess far too much common sense for this particular thread.

We're just discussing possibilities, however unfeasable they may be. And we all have different points of view, so post and express yourself.

Refuckingdiculous. :o

Eww maybe Page & Jonsey can get a bus and follow Robert around.

No I would not want to see just Page & Jonsey.

I'm not counting Jason, cause he was never a original member.

They all Have lives and can continue without anyone.

So what was Page and Plant??? Was that led zeppelin?

SHOULD THEY NOT HAVE DONE THAT? They didnt include Jones did they?

And WHO said PB&J should call it LED ZEPPELIN ANYWAY??

Given the choice between NEVER seeing Jimmy Page and Jones play together,

OR seeing them play together WITHOUT percy, I choose the latter.

If Jimmy Page was playing in your town with the local BAR BAND

YOU WOULD be there in a hotdamn minute.

And PLANT is the PROBLEM. He has ALWAYS BEEN the barrier to a reunion.

ALL-WAYS. The problem." Its my voice and Im going home-wahhhhhahhhhhahhhhhh-haaaaa!"

But he has a solo career...oh yeh?

Who cares.

When was the last time ANYONE wanted to listen to TALL COOL COKE-A- COLA...I mean "one" or "pledge-pin" or any of it really...cmon EVERYBODY wants Zeppelin, and thats why Percy always refuses.

And if a SOLO artist performs 50% of a SOLO gig with tunes from the

"old-group" he is supposedly trying to distance himself from...

it is completely artisticaly Disengenuios.

ok Im ready for the blitzkreig..FLAME ON!

I still say that if Plant refuses, that the rest of Zep hijack Chris Cornell.

Promise me never to say that again. I have a lot of respect for Cornell, he has an awesome voice, but his live vocals are terrible; utterly and absolutely horrid. I can't tell you how many times I got stoked for a live Soundgarden show only to be terribly disappointed in his vocals. When Audio Slave joined I figured "awesome, now he can concentrate on vocals" thinking that maybe his live vocals were affected by trying to make sure he plays the guitar well; but alas he sounds like crap there too.

I don't know what it is. I know he can sing, he just fails to do so live.

There is "NO" Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant.

Just as there is "NO" Led Zeppelin without Jimmy Page or John Paul Jones.

The closest thing we, in 2007, could get was having a Bonham on the kit.

Take it for what its worth, but Plant not being apart of a tour is one of the dumbest assumptions any person could possibly make.

Like I said, if they are planning a world tour, there is no harm of having Plant go off on his tour with Krauss and the other three rehearsing and playing gigs in the interim to tighten up. But only as an instrumental trio, no need to bring in any other singer.

The ultimate secret to Led Zeppelins success is actually no secret at all.It was something they knew from the very beginning.

Chemistry!.

The Beatles had it and so did the Stones. But with Zeppelin it was obvious right from the very beginning to the bitter end.Four very talentent musicians with different backgrounds and tastes, who somehow sparked off each other, pushed each other, and could only achieve what they did because they were very different individuals united in one goal - to make brilliant music!

To suggest that they should go out without Percy is like saying John and George should tour without Paul and Ringo;i.e-rather daft!!.

Cornell has an incredible voice, or should I say "Had" and incredible voice. I'm afraid all the screaming he did in the early days took it's toll. I was lucky enough to see some Soundgarden shows where Cornell literally blew the roof off of the building. He was that good and had incredible range.

Seeing him live is very much a hit or miss situation these days, but overall I think he is one of the best vocalists of all time, and the most underrated songwriters in the business.

Journey replaced the singer with one that sounded just like the original singer. They even had several others replaced ( Maybe all of them except the guitar player ) and I still liked it. I would say if Plant is not interested now, and says he will not in the future, hire another singer that wants to. I would love to see all of them together and wanting to tour. I enjoyed when Page & Plant came without JPJ or Jason. They brought Michael Lee on drums and a guy from the cult I think, on bass. That show was a close to Led Zeppelin that I have been able to experience. Of course I would have rather seen JPJ on bass, but I have never seen LZ and I just had to go. I went to see Jimmy Page with Jason on drums, and I go to see Robert Plant with his band just to try and get a glimpse of what remains of LZ. The excitement I have for the mere possibility of a tour is unexplainable. That is enough rambling sorry....

That guy on bass was Robert Plant's son in law. I think he is married to Carmen Plant. His name is Charlie Jones. No relation to John Paul Jones. He was not ever part of The Cult. I think he is currently working with Goldfrapp.
