New box sets including unreleased material

Recommended Posts

I have been hoping that all three guitar solos he reportedly recorded for Stairway will be included in the bonus disc for Led Zeppelin IV.

I wonder if it will be the bootlegged outtake, with the solo so many claimed was fake? That would be a lark.

Just thought I would share this post from a friend of mine on another forum. He is far from being the type of person to bestow compliments on Zeppelin, when he doesn't think they are due. I was pleased with his thoughts. The Elvis reference is in relation to a highly regarded Elvis Box set that many believe set the standard for excellence:

"A few wks back I was able to spend some time enjoying the newly remastered Zep material , a compete listen of Zep 1 , 2 and 3 on cd and vinyl .... Jimmy most certainly put a lot of time and work in this process , and sonically it was well worth the wait!!

The past couple days , I had the opportunity to enjoy all 3 super delux sets ..... and let me just tell you , outside of Elvis and a few classical artists ..... no one puts together a product anywhere near what Jimmy does for Zep!! .... time and time again , the love, work and appreciate (sic) on an intimate level of the product he releases to the public , is uncanny!!

With these deluxe boxes , the limited numbered sets ... are just drop dead gorgeous!!! ..... the book is again only rivaled by Elvis , gorgeously put together , limited numbered print just beautiful - not cheaply done at all!!!

The music , good to great with some timeless pieces .... for sound quality Zeppelin one is where it's at , amazing sound happening here!!! .... Zeppelin 2 far less muddy , Heartbreaker sounds like a different song with so much fleshed out!! .... Zeppelin 3 , is surprisingly the gem of the bunch , the moving wheel replica is another example of Jimmy's over the top attention to detail .... and I will tell you now KEYS TO THE HIGHWAY / TROUBLE IN MIND is the diamond in the ruff of these first 3 releases ...... not just a renamed working of an already released track , this baby here is a raw new musical gem!!!

Zep fans enjoy , it may not be ************* , but it sure is a beautiful effort by Jimmy , and not just a cash grab ..... But an honest true love of both his music and fans!!

God bless
"

Just don't get any of those Beats by Dr. Dre cans. :bagoverhead:

I ordered the Audio Technica ATH M50 headphones. With the straight cable and not coiled. Great price on Amazon.

I decided to order the Sennheiser HD 380 Pro's from Amazon. Ordered them an hour ago, they should be here today (yes, Sunday delivery )

Still no shipping notice here in the US, I'm a tad bit worried about the 03Jun delivery date which still says guaranteed on my open order page.

Mind sharing why straight cable and not coiled? I'm thinking of getting headphones, too. I dislike ear buds and the headphones I have won't do for listening to the remasters. Not because they're old but because my cat peed on them and I just cannot get the smell out.

Have you tried dry cleaning them?

Makes me happy that I got the Deluxe CDs, as all 3 sets are on their way to me in New Mexico. I hope for tomorrow but expect them Tuesday.

Dry cleaning? How would that work?

Try and find a specialist dry cleaners store.

It sounds strange I know, but some of those places possess the smaller/special tools to clean harder, more elaborate pieces of clothing. It's worth a shot.

Why not! I live in the middle of nowhere, so the nearest dry cleaners is 30 miles away - but the woman who owns/runs the place might be entertained enough by that request to give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion!

The coiled ones can get tangled plus they add more weight when you have them on, so that's why I went with the straight cable. That sucks about your phones! Damn cat! :wall:

Don't be. Depending on where you live, Amazon can complete the shipping next day. I live in a Los Angeles suburb that doesn't get things sent out until literally the morning of delivery with no problems.

Thanks for the info about the coiled cable - makes sense. Anyone want a cat?

Bonus! Multiple stinky items! Actually, the only reason that the cat is still alive is that he has never peed on anything more valuable than that.

Is it a remastered cat that comes with alternate cats?

A cat becomes remastered when it leaves my home and arrives at yours. Alternate cats are available, including a few unauthorized versions.

Just a question, do the liner notes mention the dates of the recording sessions?

Thanks
