What Made You Happy today?

Ahahhaha, getting out of jury duty! Priceless! Especially when you are a single mom right? Glad your daughter is feeling better. Where are you going on vacation? We're going to take a week in Atlantic City. Not a real big thrill but no airfare, we can drive there. I'm hoping to use the days to relax by the pool and take advantage of the gym and maybe work on getting back in shape. Hit the spa, ohh lala! And the usual casino/resort stuff...

So true. There were 40 of us who were picked for the case that the judge cancelled. It was amazing, out by noon! Thank you for the kind words, my daughter is fever free today and back to camp in the morning.

About that vacation, i had planned to spend 2 nights of it in AC, but if you are gonna be there, gotta check when. I wanted to play poker, but that will be out of the question, lol, if you are there!!! Joking! Well the vacation is at home, but i will be making some day trips with a friend. Atlantic City for 2 nights and 3 days is the first plan. Hopefully it will still be warm enough to spend time on the beach, though i'm certain the ocean will be too cold. Since Borgota is so expensive, staying at the nice Hilton, which is on the beach ( i believe) or at least on the boardwalk. Plan a trip to New Hope one day, Dutch Wonderland another day, and certainly plan on eating at some great restuarants in Center City Philadelphia (Steven Starr owns the best places)! My friend enjoys good food and eating, so it's a pleasure to dine with him! If it was still the summer months i would probably venture to other shore points. I love SeaSide Heights, Ocean City and Wildwood. Unfortunately it will be after Labor Day when things slow down.

I'm happy that Medhb and I made up after a rocky start! I have missed out on getting to know a very nice person! Now i can appreciate your posts! Seriously, when will you be in AC, maybe we can meet up!

Jeez Tangerine! I didn't realize we were so close! Oh man, don't you love New Hope!! I love going there! We are leaving for AC next Tuesday and returning Friday...unless we decide to get into a Friday evening poker tourney. I don't have to be back to work until Monday so if that tourney thing worked out, it would be worth staying another night! Let me know if our paths are crossing, we'll definatley have to meet up!!

Ahhh, all the places you mentioned I know well except Dutch Wonderland. What is that?

Enjoy the day trips! I've always kinda wanted to do that! I can't remember the last time we went to New Hope!

Peace! :hippy:

Dutch Wonderland is in Lancaster PA. It's like an amusement park for litte kids. It's by the outlet malls.

If we are talking about the same Dutch Wonderland. If not, I just sound stupid.

That's the one. My daughter is almost four and she had so much fun there last year i have wanted to take her again! I have always hated "big kid" rides, myself. I have been on rollercoasters, but always with great fear. Forget any of those rides that go way up and then drop you fast, barf...so Dutch Wonderland is just my speed, the speed of a toddler.

New Hope is so much fun! I love the shops and the food! When i was a teenager (it may still be there i need to look) my favorite place was the head shop. They had cool tshirts and paraphernalia. Though i never liked to smoke, my gf's and I loved to wear the feather roach clips in our hair! I am about 20 miles south of New Hope. I usually get there once or twice a year.

Good luck in Atlantic City if you gamble. I'm sure you'll do well at the poker tables! I won't be there until later in September. Have a really nice time!

I've been a few times before. It was fun, and my cousin used to work there.

Its fun for kids certainly. My daughter loves the train ride through the park and the boats especially. Only big disappointment is the food. I am considering Hersheypark, too. That might be a better choice.

There's another wonderful dance that we saw again (same girl; different guy); here's a clip of it from last night's show (no comment on the Archuleta version of Imagine... <_< ):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOM1ETBnYQs The guy is Debbie Allen's protege.

I can tell you who won if you like; I don't want to be a spoiler, but again I doubt many people here watch...

My friends. They crack me up. Everybody's got their requisite wannabe gangsta photo up on their MySpace, right? It's become so prevalent that even the ironic ones with little blond girls "representin'" aren't really very funny anymore, but leave it to my friends to go and put the humor back into these pics.

So, the two of them are posing inside of a liquor store, holding up Magnum 40 ounces and throwin' up some sort of retarded, non-existent "signs"...the usual shenanigans. Except there's one problem: my one friend has a Dale Earnhardt Jr. shirt on. Bwahahaha. So now, instead of looking like a couple of gangsta hos about to rip off some forties in South Central, they look like two rednecks in Riverside getting ready to tank up for the Daytona 500. Classic.

I got to see and hang out with a childhood friend today and tonight. My friend and his wife are like adventurers, living and travelling all over. Its been awhile so it was great to see them and talk and hang out...too bad its just one weekend. They are concerned with ny bagels, pizza, deli potatoe salad and such food like that, stuff they cant get where they are.

Its been great, some great reflections and stories broght up.

I just did a 4 mile power walk, for a total of 10.75 miles since Friday evening. Our schedule has been very hectic the past few weeks and I hadn't consistently made the time to get my cardio in. If I don't, I definitely feel the difference.
