the body electric Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Saw Rush here in Phoenix last night at the US Airways Center. I have seen every Rush tour but one since 1982. Having been down the road with them quite a bit in the past, I can honestly state that every recent tour I am increasingly blown away by what they are becoming. Instead of three guys jamming onstage, they have become a surreal, multimedia, three-dimensional super-trippy extravaganza. It's crazy that they would continue to evolve and morph into something completely other than what they started out as in this stage of their game. Instead of playing one long solo, Peart played three shorter ones, including one where his set was bathed in blue and purple light and his drums and cymbals were triggers, each with otherworldly sounds. It was breathtaking. If you have an even passing interest in them then I definitely recommend this tour. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. kingzoso Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I am going to see Rush on Wednesday night (11/28/2012) in Dallas at the American Airlines Center. I saw them twice on their last tour when they played Moving Pictures in its entirety. Rush always gives it Their All when they play. Quote

the body electric Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) God this is so great to see. Thanks. We were in section 113, a section or two to your right. Just before the solo, I stood up to leave my seat and stopped in an open hallway, pausing because of the solo. There was a security guy there whose job, among others, was to keep the area clear. He let me stand there in a stupor for a seeming eternity as I watched Neil. I was mesmerized. Once they broke into Red Sector A I got a big smile on my face and continued walking down the hall.
