TypeO
This is a massively high-resolution panorama of London, shot from the BT Tower (?). And when I say high-res, I mean it! Just pick a spot and zoom in. It's amazing how much detail they've captured. I managed to spot a humorous small glitch in the stitching of the photo here. I even managed to find one of the 3 Buzbys inserted into the panorama, which qualified me to enter into their free giveaway - if only I lived in the UK! Anyway, those who actually live in London may find this even more interesting than I did. http://btlondon2012.co.uk/pano.html

The Tower will still rotate though it was given a rare twirl for the feature on the BBCs Oneshow about the making of the panorama a few nights ago. Whomever invented the rotating restaurant should be drawn and quartered. A simple trip to the washroom and you are left hunting for your table. Bah. Fool In The Rain 60
That would be great for tourism if they did. I agree with you there but.. BT, which currently uses the 34th floor restaurant space for corporate hospitality and company events, was planning to reopen it in time for the London Olympics with seating for 60-70 diners. However, the company has now announced that it will not reopen the space as a restaurant in the immediate future.

ledded1
They showed this on TV here a few days ago it looks stunning. My son gets married in London in July and his reception is on a boat on the Thames near to the London Eye. It should be one hell of a day. Bong-Man
Very cool. I just watched a special that featured all the development going on in London. New ports, subways, fixing the Thames with giant sewers, new skyscrapers made of stacked concrete....I've never been to England, but I've been to Oklahoma. redrum
Gawd! I'd hate to have to drive there. Isn't London like 50 miles across?

chillumpuffer
Gawd! I'd hate to have to drive there. Isn't London like 50 miles across? Not sure how wide London is. It does sprawl a bit. Central London has a congestion charge and it is certainly not as crowded with cars as it was. Like all big cities is easier to get round on foot or use the excellent underground. TypeO
Very cool. I just watched a special that featured all the development going on in London. New ports, subways, fixing the Thames with giant sewers, new skyscrapers made of stacked concrete. That's one of the first things that jumped out at me in the photo. Everywhere I looked, there were tons of cranes and construction. I've never been to England, but I've been to Oklahoma. LOL They say the ladies are insane there...
