FoxyMKII Posted December 14, 2007 Share Posted December 14, 2007 I was wondering if before the O2 show there was as much speculation about potential tours, on this forum, as there is now? I also wondered if people genuinely feel that there is more chance of a tour than there was, say, a year ago. I don't mean to pee on anybodies fire but Floyd said they were having a one off reunion for a cause they all believed in and that is what they did. Potenitally this is the same situation.... A World Tour is a big thing, but like you said is more chance now. I think Page (especially) wants to do a tour. Early on, I was very skeptical about a tour and tried everything to get into the Reunion Show in London. I've heard many places discussed for 2008 -- Knebworth, Wembley Stadium, MSG, Glastonbury, and Giants' Stadium. I am still a little skeptical, but I am mostly expecting at least one or some shows to be played next year. As for a full tour -- who knows? I just hope it will be easier to somehow get a ticket this time, if there is another concert. It would be nice if we didn't have to continuously speculate and there was some confirmation, one way or the other. I suspect we will know better in a short while. Doing his new material is what he loves most now, you have to respect that. All these confirmed 08 dates for Plant/Krauss tour continue to squash reuion tour possibilities. at the same time, the NY classic rock radio station in my area is just hinting and builing up a Zep tour; every day they talk about it like its just ineveitable or they know something they are not at liberty to tell yet. Jimmy hasn't toured for 7 years and was procrastinating on a solo album. The only thing he's been doing aside from charity work is working over Led Zep's archive, securing the legacy so to speak. Thoughts please people Floyd and Zeppelin are really in a similar predicament where 3/4 of the band seem open to a tour, and the lone holdout has enough clout to prevent it from happening. I think Zeppelin is more likely to do more shows simply because they didn't have the catastrophic meltdown between members like Floyd did. Animosity doesn't appear to be a factor in the case of Led Zeppelin for now at least. That may eventually develop if the rest of them REALLY want this to happen and one doesn't. Yes, there was, on this forum, and on Rapallo's old forum... But most of the time, it wasn't really speculation, or not only speculation. Mostly, there have been just pleas and complains thrown in the air. please come to the US, this is so unfair or they OWE us a tour and things like that. But my point is that people talk about the theoretical tour because they want it to happen, and not because there might be any possibility that it would eventually happen.
