Rest in peace Casey Kasem. I wish this guy could've lived forever. His voice to me was always like an old friend. Whether it was from America's Top 40,or Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Casey, you don't have keep reaching for the stars anymore.

I'm a bit late with this, but I just heard about it after doing some browsing on imdb. And as a fan of the Universal horror pictures, I thought it needed to be mentioned....

104 and what a marvelous journey it was.

I'll miss his optimism.

One of my favorite childhood memories is listening to America's Top 40 on that little white am/fm radio every Sunday night. Those were magical times, indeed, and Casey Kasem's voice is definitely like an old friend. RIP, dear Casey.

He wrote The Loco-Motion???

Damn, one of my favorite songs ever.

I absolutely loved the original by Little Eva when I was a kid - only 5 or 6 at the time.

So, of course, I could only love the Grand Funk version when it came out.

RIP.

OK, I wasn't aware Kylie Minogue did a version.

Just listened to it, and... meh.

Still the song I like, but probably the least engaging version I've heard, very flat and lifeless.

I can't even decide which version I like best - Little Eva or Grand Funk - only that I like the Kylie Minogue version the least.

Yesterday was a crushing blow...not only for Tommy Ramone, but before that news hit I heard about Charlie Haden's passing.

Charlie Haden was the real deal...a true jazz legend. So many great bands, so many great works. Yesterday I listened to a lot of his Quartet West albums...right now I'm listening to "Beyond the Missouri Sky", his collaboration with Pat Metheny.

His musical talent was passed down to his children, all of whom are talented.

A sad day when two musicians go. My thoughts to both their families.

wow the great Johnny Winter R.I.P, another great bluesman gone. :depressed::angel:

I posted this in Other Bands. With a link to CNN article. I once had the album Tobacco Rd. His brother was more famous I suppose, but with his condition was it not a miracle he lived this long?
