SteveAJones
Re: the whole 'making promises and not keeping them thing' - further thinking makes me believe that the guy must be under a lot of pressure. Everyone expects him to do something, and with every interview where he's asked about it, the automatic response is "something is in the works". The weight of everyone's expectations, and his catering to those expectations by making all these promises aren't helping. Does he feel it's now an obligation to keep the spirit of Zeppelin alive or the pressure to make them more relevant? [because I honestly don't see why he has to stress over it. all the accolades and awards they're receiving now should show that they are always going to be relevant in some shape or form] So bottom line...what should be his motivation now? What is that extra spark/kick he's looking for? [and if anyone answers this, I'm not looking for the generic answer of 'Plant'] He can't really be that dependent on Robert, can he? As far as I'm concerned Jimmy reached his artistic zenith in November 1975. 37 years is a long, long time to be having lunch in this town (and many others) on that legacy BUT his alchemical properties and recorded output from '68-'75 have stood the test of time. Nowadays if he's self-actualized, content and at peace I'm happy for him. I for one do not expect anything further and haven't since the Page/Plant era came to a close in Spring 1999. Unlike Robert, he never escaped to some degree the shadow of Led Zeppelin. Unlike Robert, he never really wanted to.
kingzoso
I guess I missed it. So what was Jimmy's big announcement on Friday, April 12? I assume it was not a tour or new album announcement or this topic would have exploded even more? What did I miss? Anyone? Thanks!!!
Mudslider
He's multi tasking with every intention of manifesting new music on stage after the first of the year. That's what jimmy's doing. Uh-huh.

He will never be able to top what he has already done so he should cut out the hollow words regarding new material which has been going on 8 years and concentrate on releasing the stuff from the archives everyone is craving.
