Good on him; he changed the whole look of music for a decade. Heavy Metal Parking Lot is a fantastic mini-documentary! Quote

It's a great album, really enjoying it, but of the albums they've made since Halford returned, I think Redeemer of Souls and Angel of Retribution are better. Quote

Strider Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 (edited) The 1983 US Festival was 35 years ago...May 28-29-30 1983. Saturday was "New Wave Day" (The Clash's last performance, Stray Cats, Flock of Seagulls, Wall of Voodoo), Sunday "Heavy Metal Day" (Van Halen, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Motley Crue), and Monday a grab-bag day (David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, John Cougar, U2). Heavy Metal Day was, by far, the biggest day. Hundreds of thousands of us sweated in the insane San Bernadino heat. But it was worth it for Judas Priest! Judas RULED the day! Van Halen was drunk and sloppy...even more than usual (the beginning of the end of the original DLR-era VH started here). Motley Crue was a cartoonish joke. The other bands were either just okay (Scorpions, Ozzy) or lost in a haze of marijuana and booze (Triumph, Joe Walsh. Enjoy Judas Priest at the US Festival... Edited May 30, 2018 by Strider Quote
