Again your ignorance is showing. You are taking Scripture literally.

Nope, I just cited a text, I never stated my opinion about it.

:peace:

"Be careful, your ignorance is showing. You know nothing about the American South and the above statement proves that!"

Hmmmm, must be cause I can not read and never travelled..........are there really more people beyond those windmills and tulips I am seeing right now?

Kate,

you've got to hope that this doesn't end up in a summer of riots like we have had before. This tragedy is particularly hard on those of you who live nearby - it makes it much more 'real' than simply reading what's in the media.

Hi Kenog,

if it does end up with Riots then it will be the Groups like EDL and The BNP that will be causing it. People in my area are NOT putting blame on any Religious Group....

I do not condon the Defacing of any Building or Memorial, but over the Weekend a Memorial to a 'Bomber Squadron' was Defaced and a Local 'Mosque' was also Targeted.

All that we can hope for over the coming Months is that Common Sense prevails, and to let this poor Lad be laid to Rest and not be used as an excuse for more violence...

All right-minded people should wish for above. I've noticed several of the British newspaper web sites have included family photos with Lee Rigby. I hope the his family are okay with this and have given permission for the photos to be shared with the world. They deserve to mourn his death in private if they wish.

I started following the tribute page for Lee on Facebook and this was posted today.

"The Stand Strong march is a mass event planned for June 23rd, to take place across the country. We will be uniting, regardless of race, religion and background to stand up to Extremism in our country. This is not a violent march, this is a peaceful march which encourages everybody to wear the Woolwich Strong T-shirt and stand side by side in the fight against extremism. At exactly 1300hrs following on from the march, there will be a 5 minute silence to remember our fallen hero; Lee Rigby. We are looking for march organisers to lead a march in your respective towns/cities. Get in touch with the woolwich strong page if you want to get involved. STAND STRONG !!"

The funeral plans will be posted soon.

Edited because my phone has control issues and changes what I spell.

IMHO, Jihad is rooted in sexual frustration and I said GENERALLY SPEAKING it's foot soldiers are unable to get laid (socially inept with members of the opposite sex). Who beheads a man in the street and then apologizes to the women present that they had to witness it? A sexually frustrated, socially inept jihadi foot soldier, that's who. If just one girl in his life had agreed to give him a second date tragedy may well have been averted.

Yep, somehow... somewhere... it's probably a woman's fault.

I've heard people say the world would be more peaceful if women were in charge, but I don't think that's quite what was meant.

...ahem... okay, ladies let's go save the world ...

Everybody, sing with me now... " All we are saaay-ing, is give peace piece a chance..."

after 9-11 in the United States there were Sikhs who were shot and killed by people who thought Muslims as a whole were worse than others . just last year some guy went on a shooting at Sikh temple in the united states. none of this would have been ok if they were actually muslim and not something else.

but is it a surprise that those who would think muslims are so bad that they have a right go out and just shoot any one of them are also the ones who can't tell difference between sikhs and muslims ?

Slight derailment here, so my apologies, but further to a comment earlier in the thread about the Swedish riots - http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2013/05/27/305676/uk-media-censor-sweden-riots/

Thanks for the link Knebby. I should have known better than to read the comments section following the article. Some of them are just ignorant and hate-filled.

There it is, the tedious and inevitable Hitler reference; in this instance it's packaged with a bit of Catholic bashing.

I guess some will continue to ignore the overwhelming majority of terrorist attacks since WWII have been carried out by Islamic Jihadists.

Shall we lump all Muslims into one neat terrorist package? I guess we can do the same with Catholics, Hitler was Catholic.

Refusing to assimilate into the host nation's culture is beyond annoying, but attempting to murder citizens of the host nation is totally unacceptable.

Have to agree with you there Steve, why people go to any country and then try to re-create that country AND expect others to follow suit is completely beyond me. If I were to say move to France I would learn French, their customs and protocol, and assimilate. I would still be American by heart but I sure as hell would not expect the French to speak English and allow me to conceal carry. I choose to go to their country, I would not have been forced so to me it is obvious, you go to another country assimilate, yet hold your nation of origin in your heart, you don't expect others to change for you.

Terrorists come in all shapes sizes and religions. Just google Yitzhak Shamir and Count Bernadotte. The Count called out the problems with the formation of the new state of Israel and it's relationship with the injustices being done to the Palestinians..... for this he was killed by the terrorist group known as The Stern Gang, headed by future Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir.

I'm not against Catholics, Muslims or Jews. Evil exists everywhere, unfortunately.

I don't think so. Islamic Jihad is actually a recent phenomenon. I don't recall any group of Muslims who claimed to wage war on behalf of Islam until the Iranian Revolution in 1979. The terrorists I remember hearing about in the news during the 1970's were the PLO, the IRA and the Baader Meinhof gang. The PLO has always been secular and are motivated by nationalism and money; not religious fervor.
