weslgarlic
I always thought that one reason Page & Plant did n't use JP Jones in the 90's is because Plant wanted to keep son-in-law Charlie Jones in a job (like Eddie Van Halen with son in Van Halen , maybe both are ego things) they could have used both like they did at Live-Aid with Paul Martinez , I think Charlie continued working with Plant until an early line up of Priory Of Brion , But apart from separating from Plant's daughter in 2010 I don't know what he's done since

jabe
I gotta hand it to you wes, I've wondered for a long time about about Charlie, but didn't have the nuts to bring his name up. Maybe we'll be updated on his current goings on. Maybe not.

Knebby
If "true love" exists, it doesn't end in divorce.Sorry that's a sweeping statement that you cannot prove. All kinds of factors come into play. And as for the couple in question, I was a guest at their wedding and it was one of the most full-of-love events I've ever attended. slave to zep
"True love" implies something greater than a simple union which can be broken. what sort of fantasy world do you live in? people and circumstances can change over time .... do you honestly think that two people who are in love on their wedding day are not committed at that moment? do you think they want it to fall apart? get real .... Knebby
"True love" implies something greater than a simple union which can be broken.Maybe in a fairytale. Listen, this could go back and forth foreve - the original implication re their marriage in this thread - not from you I hasten to add - was offensive and wrong. It's a bit pointless for us to debate any further.

Psychedelic
When you put it that way, sounds like hes the reason we had no Zeppelin reunion in the 90's. I still like to think Page and Plant wanted it to be something else, but of course the material failed and they did end up just playing a bunch of Zeppelin songs without Jonesy, which was selfish of both Page n Plant. They always seem to get the all the attention anyway, no one seemed to miss jpj.
Knebby
Never attended a wedding that wasn't to be honestI have. Ones that were nowhere near as obvious as this one.Everything's relative. All funerals are sad - some are more gut-wrenchingly sad than others . This event was so full of love that just about everyone there was commenting on it. If it had just felt like a "normal" wedding I wouldn't have made my comment.
kenog
Slightly off topic, but I have seen footage which Sunny Jones has posted of herself singing, and she is very, very good. One to watch for the future I think. She has also inherited her mother's good looks! I have. Ones that were nowhere near as obvious as this one. Everything's relative. St. Paw
Damn it is hard keeping up with Jones. It was love it wasn't love. He got the gigs because he was talented or because he married well. Wes, what is your Take? Does this Chuck guy have the goods? Coud you explain it to me in an a script font so I don't have to squint so badly? the chase
Never attended a wedding that wasn't to be honest Well you can tell when the vows are being said how real it is at the time.. I stood as best man at my friends wedding and when his now ex wife said her vows like she was reading a grocery list.. my heart sank ... I knew it was doomed. I'll take knebby's word that the Plant / Jones wedding was a couple in love and completely committed to each other..

Seems you've overlooked the dynamics of Page & Plant's relationship just as some others here have overlooked the positive aspects of Charlie's relationship with Robert. SteveAJones
Damn it is hard keeping up with Jones. He got the gigs because he was talented or because he married well. Perhaps I can help. Charlie Jones had been Robert's bassist for more than four years before he became his son-in-law, and he and drummer Michael Lee were incumbent members of Robert's band when the Unledded opportunity was offered to Robert. St. Paw
Thanks, SAJ That explains the story of the 2 Jonses much more succinctly than a Brinks truck backing up because he was raiding the cookie cabinets at RAP's house. So now Wes, just when did he get into the goods?
