yeti#
Inspired by this blog post: http://contemporaryclassicrock.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/what-is-the-best-led-zeppelin-cover-ever/ What is the best cover of a Led Zep song done by another artist? I might say Jeff Healey's cover of Communication Breakdown with John Popper on harmonica from his album Cover to Cover. Thoughts?
Pagesbow
Before I learned how to use the search function, I asked a similar question http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/17365-covers-of-zeppelin-songs/?hl=covers There is also these http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/2052-best-led-zeppelin-covers/page-6?hl=covers http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/19024-zep-covers-by-other-artists/?hl=covers Anyway, my favourite is probably Tori Amos' version of Thank You. This I like too, from the late Kevin Gilbert.
yeti#
Apologies for the repeat thread. It was worth it just to get that link you posted to the Kevin Gilbert version of Kashmir. Thanks - that's awesome.

ledzepfvr
^^ David Garrett does any awsome job on that. I've seen one of his shows on PBS where he plays that. Heart does some good covers of Zeppelin songs.

Tangerina
May be on here already-but there's a some videos on youtube of Chris Cornell doing his great live version of Thank You. Also recently when I chaperoned my kid + friends to a three band show at a coffee house-a rap group played, an indie/guitar group played, then came a drummer and a DJ duo--who closed the show with...their version of No Quarter-had to give 'em props for picking a cool song- won't say it's the BEST No Quarter cover I've ever heard but was surely the most unusual. snkcube
This is one of my favorite covers of The Rain Song. What's cool is that the cover was done by one person.
Trapper
Gruhak - Night Flight (their covers of i.e. Pink Floyd and The Who are the best I've heard too!)
nick2632
Communication Breakdown covered by Iron Maiden (very heavy, Bruce Dickinson has a crazy voice for the song) Thank You covered by Tesla and Great White (both covers are done well, but Zeppelin live blows them both away!) Out On The Tiles covered by Blind Melon (not a fan of them, but it sounds cool)

Gridlock
Great White's, "Babe, I'm going to leave you" is an excellent Zep remake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMdIV8i_mfU My old band attempted this song also and we didn't sound half bad also... stacilayne
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY - In My Time of Dyin' It's on YouTube, but for some reason, this forum will not allow me to "paste" (not even plain text). You can easily find it on YouTube. It's pretty great. Zack Wylde does lots of LZ covers. Staci
