Big Klu Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I don't see their names dropped here at all. I've been big into Kyuss for a while, but its only recently I acquired QOTSA's material....on a tdk disc....for free, that I see the light. Before this week, they were merely just 15 second bumper music for AM radio. Apparently this is like being an Early Fleetwood Mac blues fan, then finding out it later they became a huger and a much better looking pop band. WTF? Why aren't they senses shatteringly huge? Are they? Or am I too stuck in 1979 to have noticed they were knighted by the king of the world for being awesome? Quote
kaztor (slight return) Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Damn straight, QoTSA rawk, hard. I honestly must give the edge to Kyuss, though... But QOTSA's pretty damn good indeed! Quote

Kyuss were a seminal band and they signed IMO the track of modern / alternative rock music QOTSA are less seminal but an intriguing band as well, with more up and down I love both of them Quote
BigBadZep Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Both good bands, but I hardly ever listen to either anymore. I've gotten a bit bored of Kyuss especially, and nowadays I would probably put on QOTSA's first album before Kyuss.. Quote
donteatpoop Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I love Queens of the Stone Age, Lanegan has come a long way from his days with the Screaming Trees and has really developed his art. I can't make the Kyuss comparison, as I haven't heard of Kyuss before today (and after doing a little research I have no idea why I haven't heard of them). At the very least though, I now have a 'new' band to investigate and spend some time on. Quote
irg82 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Damn straight, QoTSA rawkED, hard. I like their old stuff WAY better than their last two albums. Quote
Pagesbow Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Josh Homme is one the coolest men on the planet: funny, witty, talented down to earth bloke and the undisputed King of the Gingers and that rarest of all things - a sarcastic American. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7xJaArVskY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYhLGJNEG38 Could never really get into Kyuss, but enjoy most of his "projects" Quote
Pagesbow Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 "In part three the dudes talk to Josh about getting John Paul Jones for Them Crooked Vultures, and what it was like playing with him for the first time" Quote
geekfreak Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I`ve been a fan of the band... QOSA I`ve never heard Kyuss or screaming trees Quote
