DropDown Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 In part 1 of the series, thirty guitar legends are asked which songs they want to be remembered by, and JPJ chooses not one but two LZ songs - the second choice is an obvious one, while he chose the first for totally different reasons! http://www.guitarworld.com/thirty-guitar-legends-including-eddie-van-halen-dimebag-darrell-and-jeff-beck-choose-song-theyd-most-want-be-remembered-part-1?page=0,2 Quote

That was surprising and full of typical JPJ humor! Wow, I was really expecting him to say NQ! Personally, my favorite bassline of his is in HMMT! Quote
SteveAJones Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I'm burned out on Guitar World...it's the same crap recycled again and again...the 25 Best Solos...the 10 Best Rock Albums of All Time...it's all been done. Quote
DropDown Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 I know all music magazines pull that stunt year after year, especially when they have no new content ( in fact it's a "staff" article) but nonetheless I found JPJ's first choice refreshingly funny. Quote
Strider Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I'm burned out on Guitar World...it's the same crap recycled again and again...the 25 Best Solos...the 10 Best Rock Albums of All Time...it's all been done. It's not just Guitar World...or even music magazines. It's a scourge that plagues the entire media world...printed and internet. Actual informative editorial content has been replaced by endless lists and polls and celebrity trivia. Quote
mstork Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 It's challenging in a monthly print format to keep readers interested in an age when all the information you could want is at your fingertips 24/7. I worked in the print medium for 20 years and it's gotten tough out there! Quote
DropDown Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 I know this for a fact, as a write for an inflight magazine and the guidelines suggest how often we can recycle restaurant, cafè and entertainment listings. Quote
