I love this version of the song! Does anyone have a tab of how Jimmy plays it here? I can never get this one right. I can play the regular song, but the way he does this version.... I just don't know. Thanks!

There is a video on youtube that has someone doing the whole breakdown in the middle part almost note for note, I don't think it's a lesson but it's about as close as you'll probably get.

He does play it differently live. Instead of playing it like the tab you posted, he plays it like this:

E|-------------x---x-x-x--x-x-x--
B|-------------x---x-x-x--x-x-x--
G|-------------9---9-9-9--9-9-9--
D|-------------9---9-9-9--9-9-9--
A|-----5---5---7---7-7-7--7-7-7--
E|--7---7------x---x-x-x--x-x-x--

There are tabs....but using your ear is the best tool you can refine. It's frustrating at first, I sometimes use Amazing Slow Downer or similar programs to hear it bit by bit.

You kind of have to "feel" Page's playing, and translate that to yours.

The secret to the live version intro is using a touch of delay, hitting single notes instead of chords, and throwing an open G string into the riff. Remember to always play the D note on the fifth string with a little vibrato while striking the open D below it for a thicker unison sound. Page revealed this trick in an interview with Guitar World a few years back.

e ------------------------------------------------------------------

B ------------------------------------------------------------------

G --------------------------------------------------0--------------

D--------0--------0------------------------------------0------0---

A -------5--------5----7------------7---------7-------5------5---

E ---7--------7-----------0--0--0-----0--0---------------7------

Right and right. But delay? I don't think so...I hear NO ounce of delay in TSRTS but I could be wrong. An extremely small amount of reverb never hurts though - as it was in the Garden, an arena. (You obviously wouldn't want any digital reverb if you were playing live though...).

Great tips though.

PS: Welcome to the Forum my friend! Glad another TSRTS guy around here :-)

I have always loved TSRTS. Figuring out the solos on Dazed & Confused has been my life's work.

Hi everybody,

I am new on this forum.

Is there anybody who can give me some help for the transcription of the outtro of WLL in the TSRST live. I can not succeed in finding what page is really playing. It seems like a mix of major and minor pentatonic...

Thanks in advance

Looking forward to reading you.

PS : To JMP73, playing Dazed & Confused of TSRTS would be a life achievement for me. But as it remains too tricky for me by hears, if you any transcribed parts already available, I am interested in.

Thanks to Led Dirigible for is help on the pre solo section of WWL

^You have to download a program for this one, well worth it thought IMO if you really want to learn. About 200MB, easy to uninstall. It's this bit here:

Another good vid.

I have to point out that particularly after the "regular" first solo in WLL in TSRTS, Page heads into a lot

of uncharted territory after Plant's my "baby's reached the age of 24", etc.,. In fact in this section Page is

absolutely using the delay, but only for slap back short echo. Also these are not just blues licks, but

rockabilly licks from Cliff Gallup, Gene Vincent, Scotty More (Elvis guitarist), and others. That final strange

run, Page is kind of descending three frets on each lick, you have to think out of the box. As far as the

D&C solos after the bow solo, at least on TSRTS, much of the time when you hear all the dissonance,

Page is often crashing the E and Bb notes together in different ways, although this is a oversimplification.

Some of the other stuff , although it sounds unique( the fast , almost mandolin picking style) , the stuff that

really is very chaotic, if you check out some "better" versions of D&C, Page makes this stuff sound much

more connected to the rest of the band, as opposed to playing AGAINST the band.

Thank you everybody for your very kind answers.

Actually, I have been a little bit misunderstood, probably due to my "frenglish", but I am looking for the final outtro before the Gong.

Is there anybody who has any transcriptions of the four last guitars licks ?

Thanks in advance.
