joeboy
I find it easy to tell the difference watching TSRTS and seeing Bonzo's weight gain and JPJ's fake hair wig. Jimmy took the spotlights off JPJ and also left him at the bottom of the frames during the mockup at Shepperton Studios. Jimmy's poofy hair is also a dead giveaway. SummerOfMySmiles
Pictured John Bonham July 1973 (Wikipedia), outfit matches TSRTS stuff. That jawline! Plant also appears to be (minimally) plumper, no? Maybe I'm just overthinking
ledzepfilm
I think that shot's from July 28, 1973, because it looks like it was taken by Dina Regine.
ScarletMacaw
When I read the title of this thread, I didn't catch on that it was about TSRTS. I thought it was about Bonzo's weight gain, which seems an irrelevancy. On the other hand, I am very concerned about Jason Bonham's weight gain. I would like him to be with us for a few decades longer!
tomloge
Kind of reminds me of the way Rory Gallagher was really bloated towards the end.
ListenToThis
Bonzo put on excessive weight in 1974 and 1976. His health on the whole probably deteriorated the most in 1978. Coincidentally these were all off years as far as activity is concerned.

The Who took an extended break and poor Moon's chops went right down the tubes.. He wasn't getting behind the kit for months, possibly years at a time and partying to excess.. I don't think this was as noticeable with John Bonham playing wise. I think he loved playing too much to not practice. But the time off definitely did not agree with his conditioning ... Same with Jimmy for that matter ... down time, and hard drugs between 75-77 took its toll on his playing and his health. 77-79 even more so... 81-84 was devastating... Some people can go months and years without playing and get it back in little to no time.. I've read Jeff Beck is like this ... for some it takes years.
