We were actually considering going to see him again in the next few weeks in the New York City area. Doing my own little tribute to Johnny right now. listening today to lots of Johnny Winter stuff: 2nd Winter Johnny Winter And-Live Live Bootleg Series Volume 2 Live Bootleg Series Volume 3 I'm a Bluesman A Rock & Roll Collection The Woodstock Experience

60blues
So sad to hear this today....he was one of my very favourites.....saw him play multiple times and never was disappointed. He made me love the sound of a slide, and I still prefer his version of Highway 61 Revisited over Dylan's. He passed in a way I think most on this earth would prefer.....out there on the road, playing live....doing what he loved.
Led Dirigible
Very sad news. I was fortunately able to see him guest with Gov't Mule in New Oeans this March. His death makes me appreciate that experience all the more.
chef free
One of my favorites! I saw him whenever he came to the Bay Area since '78. I spent yesterday blasting Johnny Winter bootlegs. RIP Johnny!
