I used to have a few R. Crumb comic books, but when my mother found them she burned them.

I almost bought a R. Crumb statue of one his many different female characters, the school girl one. But where would I put it?

Aw, Maaaa!!!! Mine probably would have done the same thing.

Crumb did a drawing of a wood stove and I wish I could get that from him.

Just a wood stove?  Any context to that?

When I think of R. Crumb I think of the line from The Doors song.... "brain is squirming like a toad".

Like this drawing, only what is in his mind he knows what this means.

I think they showed him drawing the stove in the movie after he moved to France. It was like this doorway. A nice work of art.

Classic pen and ink style illustrations, like so many we used to see in all of the classic books we read as kids.

Strange that he did the Bible. He was a big part of the hippie scene, but he really didn't care for it or the music. Definitely his own man.

He definitely marches to the beat of a different kazoo that guy...

I loved that show along with the Bionic Man, sit on my face lol!

We all watched those shows, but they were pretty dumb when you think about it.

What was your favorite '70s TV show?

I think mine were Barney Miller, All In The Family, SOAP, The Odd Couple, and Johnny Carson.

Nice!    I think my grandfather said he paid $500 for his new Model T back in the 20s

I liked Sanford and Son, also All in the Family, I’d have to go through a list another favorite was Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley.

Happy Days was pretty good in the first season before it was shot in front of live audience. I didn't watch it much after that. My personality was more in line with sitcoms like The Bob Newhart Show during that period. Classic deadpan satire. Great ensemble cast.

Comedy is the most difficult genre to pull off.

Example of Happy Days in the first season. It was intended to feel more like the very successful "American Graffiti" film in the way it was shot, the writing, and the music. Not nearly as good, but that was the attempt.
