Elephant in the room......why no 5.1 mixes of every album?

This is just mere speculation but I think JP would be out of his depth with a 5.1 remix and handing over the reigns to say somebody like Steven Wilson would see him lose some of his grip as the keeper of the flame.Perhaps ol Page is like me ,old skool, good old stereo, not this surround sound stuff.Don't give him ideas though otherwise we will be forking out for more deluxe reissues in 2 or 3 years time

I remember when 5.1 was first coming to market, all the hype about how 5.1 mixes of all our beloved classic rock albums would sound so fresh and alive when we were sitting in the middle surrounded by all the seperated channels of music. And that just might have happened, but not very many 5.1 mixes of classic rock were ever released. Now whether or not the release of 5.1 mixes would have been successful or not, who knows, but I would have loved to have heard a few just to give the mixes an honest chance.

I'm loving the 5.1 remixes from other bands, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, etc. I love to listen to the center channel only when the singer is there all alone. It's just awesome to hear Jon Anderson singing Close to the Edge a cappella!

I'd rather they just release the individual tracks for each song, and let me play with them, and mix them to my desire.

That's what I'm waiting for! It would not be technically difficult either.
