despina
Well, just from curiosity, did Robert wore an earring? I thought he didn't but recently as I was watching rock and roll live in New York, 1973, I thought I saw him wearing one on his left ear. Can someone enlighten me? Maaike Roeleveld
Don't know about a feather earring, but I did see pics of Robert with a feather in his hair. You know, just like what today is called an Ibiza-feather. However, I could be wrong........

I'm curious as to why you put "wore" in quotation marks. I do remember the talk back in the 70s about the symbolism of men wearing an earring in the left ear versus the right ear (though I never could remember which was which, LOL) and are you referring to that with "wore"? Or do you just have a punctuation hangup, as I tend to have???

I think that the ones wearing an earing on their left ear were considered to be straight but the ones wearing it on the left were homosexuals.Though today, I think that this is meaningless. Anyone can wear an earring on any ear he wants to without being labeled!
despina
Just realised I missed an "r" in the title of the topic! I'm sorry!:/
Angel With A Broken Wing
Oh for sure it's no big deal about the left/right earring thing -- and people have rings for all parts of their bodies, not just ears -- so I've concluded that z1inspector is my "kindred spirit" in the excessive use of quote marks. Strider
I think that the ones wearing an earing on their left ear were considered to be straight but the ones wearing it on the left were homosexuals. Huh? Say what? Just realised I missed an "r" in the title of the topic! I'm sorry!:/ You missed more than that, hehe. It's all meaningless today. I wore earrings in both ears for many years and didn't give it a second thought what other people would say or think. By now, with the total advent of primitive and cyber cultures with all manner of body piercings, tattoos and body modifications, it's pretty pointless to worry about right ear/left ear connotations. For there are none in today's world...the lines have been obliterated.
