John M
Considering them as standalone songs, I would say Welcome Back, Kotter and WKRP in Cinncinnati. WKRP is unique in that it also had a separate and completely different ending song, although it was just a snippet and not a complete song like the opener. It was more rockin' and had nonsense lyrics.

chillumpuffer
ITV's "Weekend World" from the 1970's. It was Mountain's Nantucket Sleighride.
LedZed66
IMO the best TV show theme song of all time is the intro of The Streets of San Francisco. It's brilliant When I was a child one of my favorite TV shows was the psychedelic Signor Rossi I still love the wonderful Bossa Nova theme song - Viva la felicità! Be groovy Another theme song from childhood days is The Lightning Tree from the Follyfoot TV show. Kitsch? Noooooooooo!!!! kipper
The original opening theme song for Happy Days was different than the later versions. kipper
The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. This was when that show was actually good. I got to see several tapings of this show live back in the '70s. That was when it was a 90 minute show. Carson was the best!

JTM
In the seventies we had a news summary/politics programme called Weekend World they used "Nantucket Sleighride" by Mountain as the theme tune.
